I had a Wall Street job ... and many in our office kept a bottle in their desk. Our branch manager actually had a full bar in his office and always offered potential employees a cocktail. We often gathered around in someone's office late in the day and tipped a few.
There certainly was no proscription on drinking in the office.

I'm offered a beer from golfers several times a year. I always decline politely, except for one day a few years ago. I was the last one there, it was hot as hell, and I didn't GAF at that point. I don't know if you follow the GCSAA forums or not, but there was a thread a few years ago about the parties & shenanigans that people have been witness to at their shops. Holy smokes, there were some incredible stories.
