Hawks favored by 2

Jump on this one too. Wis will win by 29 points. And that’s just in the 1st quarter!

SF might not say it out aloud this time but he thinks Wisky is a very winnable game because their (Wisky) defense is porous to offenses of the NE type. This is going to be a shootout and will end with SF's first win. Also TO I believe has called Barry Alvarez to remind him that he owes Nebraska for everything he has achieved. All this will come together in a legendary fashion. Bet big on NE and thank me when you become a millionaire but disclaimer (don't believe the internets) applies.

with that spread, you don't think it is smart?

you must have very little confidence in this team.

it's not like we are saying bet your life savings. if you gamble on percentages, this is a pretty smart bet.....

I just never bet on Iowa games. Too unpredictable.

Not sure exactly what to expect from the Hawks in our first road game of the year. I hope to be pleasantly surprised with a good old fashioned beatdown like 08. Unfortunately, I am all too aware of how flat this program can be on the road. It would be an awfully low point if we were to lose. Just get the win.

cmon now, it's kinnick north!

If you live long enough and get smart enough you'll realize it isn't smart to bet on anyone anytime. Las Vegas doesn't build the big buildings and show the big profits because you outsmart them.

tickets available in Kinnick North

will be like the MetroDome---full of Iowa fans

Somebody saw Casino. Bet the Hawks, if you're a gambler. To cover and embarrass the Gophers. I don't care where the game is played. We're decisively better than them this year. Their QB is a walk on

Edit: Their OL is not as talented as Wisconsin's. We will sack them 5 times and force a couple of turnovers. We don't need our OL to wear them out, but that will happen. Stanley will look good again.

We have a 10 win team sans bad injury problems. Our DL will mask a lot of problems/injuries in our LB corps and inexperience in our defensive backfield. We owe one to Northwestern and Purdue. Illinois and Nebraska are garbage. We will not lay down in Happy Valley. We are winning 10 games and probably going to miss the division title by 1 game which is now behind us. We'll go bowling on New Year's day and AJ and Stanley will put the Big Ten on notice for next years. Fant will get drafted, but we'll find yet another monster TE to complement Hockenson.

When has Iowa proved anyone wrong with a big win after a bye week? Please enlighten me.
Don't use Iowa trends. This team is good. Not great, but good. We have multiple NFL guys on the defensive front 4. Our best teams have had NFL talent at that position. We've always had NFL talent at OL and CB/safety. We are winning 10 games this year and going bowling against a good opponent.

Iowa is 2-8 after a bye on the road under KF

Kirk managed to get Iowa beat 51-14 just a few years ago @ Minnesota. A week after we beat NW 48-7. In Kirk I don't trust.

Iowa has a better team, whether that matters we shall see.
Minnesota's OL has not been exemplary .... and they're blocking for a TR FR QB in pass-pro and blocking for 2 FR RBs in the running game. What's more ... Iowa's D, while exploitable, is a pretty good unit ... and they're capable of improving even more!

When the Gophers pasted the Hawks at the Bank in '14, the Hawk squad that year had a lot of issues. It didn't help matters that the former Gopher coaching staff had broken down Phil's D with a fine-toothed comb and figured out ways to exploit them.

While I believe that the Gophers can play the Hawks close .... I find it exceedingly difficult to imagine their young QB beating our Hawks.

It might not seem terribly glamorous, but I see the Hawks winning in an ugly 17-7 sort of affair.

You can have all the NFL guys on the planet and if the game plan is fail.....you're done.....

I foresee Iowa's balance on O being something that will provide quite a test for the Gopher D to defend.

I expect that the line is somewhat prejudiced by last years game and Iowa's other close affairs in rivalry games. The key differences are that the Gophers do not have the Badger OL (or the same level of QB or RB, for that matter) .... and they're also playing against an Iowa O that appears like it might finally be catching its stride.

My guess is that betting will continue to push the line more towards Iowa as the game draws nearer.

If Iowa's offense shows up and they don't have any boneheaded turnovers they will cover easily because Minnesota's offense is really bad.
