He is who he always was.

Who knew?

EVERYONE KNEW he was full of shit! For decades, they've known. And, it's really not his fault, entirely. I blame the legions of people who have managed to allow themselves to be bullshitted into believing that this shyster was a good choice, and still IS a good choice to lead a mop detail, let alone the USA.

Fairly interesting statement about our country, our society, that it elected him to, first, represent one of the two major parties, and, B, that it elected him POTUS.

And the second party didn't have a quality candidate that could defeat the buffoon. If you can't stand on your own substance you attack the other candidate. How did that go?

Thank you for the correction. America did lose. The party that wasn't good enough to stop it needs to look in the mirror.
When he won I was glad because I thought America was overdue for all of us to take a long look in the mirror.

Those and the people who decided that they needed to vote against his opponent for some purity test reason..... cough, cough...

What about the party that actually nominated him? They weren’t good enough to stop him either and gave up trying after he won the primaries—now it wholeheartedly embraces him. Would you not find them more culpable in this abomination of a presidency?

Donald Trump is a typical New Yorker who likes to
present a false persona. He is not and never was
an astute business man. Trump lived on the edge
of bankruptcy during his entire career.

His personal morality will soon come into full view.
Cohen will tell us in his forthcoming book about the
hush money to porn stars. To have 3 marriages is
not the issue, but the unfaithfulness to his wives is
the real story.

I’ve despised Trump since he came to prominence in the late 70s.
Same here. My favorite tv show in the 80s by far was Late Night with David Letterman and it used to piss me off when Dave had Trump on as a guest. All he ever did was talk about how much money he had or how glamorous his wife was. I usually didn’t even bother watching when he was on.

For a great many, it was too late by then. My own mother and stepdad, who live in VA, voted for him. They had regrets almost immediately. Now, since then, they hate everything about him. But, I know a LOT of people that have gone full-blown cult-member level. They tied themselves to him, and now they CAN'T let go. His support is a case study of cultism.

When was the Obama cult study completed? Link?

He at least seemed more coherent.

That's been the exact thing I've pointed out to my trump-supporting friends who think Biden's losing it. You can't watch interviews of him from years ago & not fully realize that he's suffered from every bit as much mental decline as Biden (probably more, because Biden's never been a particularly skilled public speaker).

I used to listen to Howard Stern's radio show, back in the K-Rock days. And his E! Show, and Trump would call-in and be as vapid and hollow as always. He was NEVER particularly bright or anything. Just his usual "tremendous" vocabulary and his shallow understanding of the world. I have literally NEVER understood the appeal of the man, on any level. I don't even understand how The Apprentice was ever popular. I never watched it, but... so what. He's just a sleazy guy, always has been, to me.

You're a perfect example. People so obsessed with hating Obama and Hillary, that you get sucked-in to the vortex of Colonel Shit-For-Brains selling you high grade bullshit. And, you buy it because you HATE Obama. You shouldn't be allowed to procreate if we base society on eugenics.

Now that's some first class hate right there.

I'm voting for Biden dumbchit.

Back to the topic, Obama has a cult, they followed his droning of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, & Syria campaign like good little sheep. Is it not allowed to oppose warmongers like Obama and Hillary Clinton?

Tell me, which war has Trump gotten us involved in? Oh yeah, none. He did however drone a terrorist in Iraq which upset many Democrats. Weird.

Well, start a thread bitching about Obama. I didn't vote for, or support, Barack Obama, either.

Your first sentence… lol. Don't do that to New Yorkers. Lute, I lived there for almost ten years, and it is home, still, to most of my paid work. Don't let some media-generated anti-urbanism crap form an opinion like this of "typical New Yorkers".

In fact, one thing I would argue, based on my experience, that is typical of New Yorkers is that they can't stand phony shit. And if you would pay close enough attention, New Yorkers don't like Trump—thought him a clown for decades, and absolutely don't favor him now.

Just a reminder...more Republican primary voters voted against Trump than voted for Trump in the 2016 primaries.

He didn't capture some overwhelming zeitgeist of Republican voters. He took advantage of a field that was both huge and weak, with a celebrity aura and a simplistic message mainly about winning after eight years out of the White House, managing to get a plurality of votes.

What's happened since then is a different story with a lot of different storylines. But the idea that he was enthusiastically and overwhelmingly embraced by the primary rank and file, because racism or whatever, just isn't true.

I remember telling myself this in a glass half full approach back in 2016 and into 2017. That was back when some naive people - myself included - thought it was possible he might "pivot" into more traditional president as opposed to the lunatic candidate that he was.

Instead he got worse, far worse and the support among Republicans... well, we've seen the ratings.

Yet his approval rating is 85%+ amongst republicans.
