Heated at rhe end of the game?!

I can't figure out what Illinois was mad about. The dunk by Wieskamp made sense. Why with a clear path to the hoop would you pull out and risk missing 2 free throws? Then their 3 cuts it to 4. A steal and another 3 and they're right back in it with 20 seconds.

Illinois gaurs took a swipe at the ball woth Connor holding it. Some words exchanged just like with lames. Connor did a little talking as he was walking away. Illinois assistant said it was ducking bullshit. Fran fires back. Assistant didn’t back down. Fran took the ball and went home.

Fran and Connor. Apple didn’t fall far at all.

Go be a fan of the Ill-Whine-i then.

Personally, I like it.

And BTW: You ain't gonna get away with that BS against THIS Iowa team. Connor, CJF, and Luka just will not back down. Man, did I say I HATE Illinois? What a bunch of goons led by a bunch of goons.

Iowa had to beat 8 guys today, and they did. Tough day for the muggin', cryin' Illini. :D

Those of you critical of Connor or any other Iowa player or coach for defending themselves are a bunch of whining apologists. Grow a pair. When you're being physically attacked, I suppose you turn the other cheek, right? LOL

Just because you may be sniveling cowards doesn't mean the Iowa Hawkeyes should be. This team has the guts to stand up for itself. Too bad some of you don't.

IMO, the end-of-game situation was on the refs. Yeah, foul would have been pointless, but when the Illini dude basically mugged Connor for four seconds what did people think was going to happen? Official calls that and there wouldn't have been an escalation.

On the other hand, what the hell is Underwood doing instructing his players to foul with 4 seconds left down 7 ???

Can't believe you're putting this on Iowa.

Shitty Hawk fan.

Are you seriously being critical of Cmac? He's standing there with literally one second left and the guy is hacking him for the ball when their down by 7 points. He did a good job of holding it together that well. FINALLY, we have a team that is NOT going to back down or fold up when things get tough late in close games. CMac played his ass off again today, so take your complaint elsewhere thank you very much.....

Illinois having an Assistant displaying road rage after the game is over and teams are trying to exchange handshakes is inexcusable...he is the only guy to blame for that. Illinois head coach should shut down his assistant before any of that happened...but he looks like he has road rage the whole game too.

Fran did it right....walk away from jerks.

Yep. Completely avoidable. But refs not doing their job... Why is anyone surprised?

absolutely. I can admit when I’m wrong unlike any other hawk poster in the history of the inter web

Ive watched it over and over and I don't see CMac do anything. The official looks like he was chasing him down, but I don't see CMac doing anything. It just looked like the assistant wouldn't shut up to Fran about something (the dunk??) not sure. It was the assistant who wouldn't shut up and Fran finally said, "enough".

Call a timeout with 4 seconds left then hack at McCaffery as time is expiring? JFC

This is true, but my goodness officials, do your job and call the dang foul there.
It shouldn't matter there was only 4 seconds left. That's how fights start on the basketball floor. Illinois player clearly trying to foul and when he's not getting the call he starts fouling harder in attempt to get the official to blow the whistle, which of course is going to illicit a response from the offensive player. It's on the officials.

You are a dB.GTFO with your dribble!

Yeah, Connor has been part of those situations the past two years because he's the guy getting the inbound pass at the end of games and getting hacked by the other team. And he's getting the ball because he's a great free throw shooter and handles the ball well. Geezuz, what the hell is wrong with this Rocket dude?

Connor was chirping with somebody on the Illini bench (or the Illini bench in general) as he walked off the court. He was probably pissed that he was being mugged as time expired up seven points

F Illini.

Underwood calling a time out down 7 w/ 4 seconds left. That whole thing is on him but to se their player punching at the ball and hacking Conner was bs then the assistant running just mouth.

As I said, F Illini.

The Illinois player punching at the ball is reminiscent of ISU's Michael Jacobsen doing it at the end of that game, also Connor holding the ball for the clock to run out.
