Heated at rhe end of the game?!

Ive watched it over and over and I don't see CMac do anything. The official looks like he was chasing him down, but I don't see CMac doing anything. It just looked like the assistant wouldn't shut up to Fran about something (the dunk??) not sure. It was the assistant who wouldn't shut up and Fran finally said, "enough".

why was the official escorting Conor back to the bench? Because he was instigating. He kept talking and Looking back at Illinois players while doing so. Off camera he said more. That’s what Illinois coach was saying was bullshit

That's probably why I like Iowa so much.....always playing the game with class, no matter the sport. You will never see Iowa do classless things such as what the Illini were doing at the end.

This is true, but my goodness officials, do your job and call the dang foul there.
It shouldn't matter there was only 4 seconds left. That's how fights start on the basketball floor. Illinois player clearly trying to foul and when he's not getting the call he starts fouling harder in attempt to get the official to blow the whistle, which of course is going to illicit a response from the offensive player. It's on the officials.

I agree.

My biggest problem is with the little bitch barking Chihuahua Cryin' Iwhini assistant.

Again, are you implying this is a bad thing?

You can't take shit from the other team if you want to be good at this level.
Thank you Hank. How many seasons has Iowa been the pretty good team with a whole bunch of NICE kids. Where does it usually get them in the end. 7 or 8 place in the league and an early exit in the conf tourney. This is NOT a dirty team, but their not going to back down, and they're going to fight you right down to the last whistle. Damn I love me some Luka, Weezy, CJ, CMac and all these guys. Even over there a suit, I can see some inspiration from JBo as well. Go Hawks......

Illinois having an Assistant displaying road rage after the game is over and teams are trying to exchange handshakes is inexcusable...he is the only guy to blame for that. Illinois head coach should shut down his assistant before any of that happened...but he looks like he has road rage the whole game too.

Fran did it right....walk away from jerks.

You would think that some Hawk fans, who are trying their damndest to be "objective," would mention that Illinois assistant and his yapping!?!?

Connor was chirping with somebody on the Illini bench (or the Illini bench in general) as he walked off the court. He was probably pissed that he was being mugged as time expired up seven points

I've watched it, he's at midcourt and is heading to his players. He doesn't say anything until the ref says something to him. I'm not sure where that is in the replay, I just am not seeing it.

I could be wrong, sure. But just because the majority thinks I’m wrong, doesn’t mean I am. Certainly the rage some of you have just because a poster has a different take is psychotic. I have to find another team and I’m a douche bag just because our player who has been involved in every scrum weve ever had was involved in another.

He walks off man, I don't see him say anything until the refs are behind him. I'm watching his mouth, just trying to see where he said anything.

Don't think you are wrong/right, I'm trying to see it and make my own opinion. It seems like the Assistant was just being an idiot. I'm thinking it has to do with the dunk, I just don't see Connor saying anything.

I think the point in time that I’m talking about might have actually been when Illinois called the timeout, not at the end of the game

Ah, that might make some more sense. I just didn't see anything at the end of the game when time ran out. If it was the timeout, that could have been Connor saying something. I'll have to check that out.

Down 7 with 4 seconds left.. Just let the game end instead of pulling that shit.

Illinois being Illinois. **** em. Never could stand them and today only reinforces it.

Too bad because it was a great game. So much for sportsmanship, but I guess Lou Henson might've approved.

Holy shiit. Calm the f down. Conor is an instigator. Always has been always willl be. Get a grip

Go back in your hole, man. Connor instigate exactly what? He stood there covering the ball with four seconds left and a seven point lead and the Illinois guy is mugging him just like they did the whole damned game. And just like most of the game, the refs absolutely ignored it. Blow the damn whistle and stop the mugging. That's their damn job. They actually get paid for running around like idiots and wearing a whistle for 40 minutes.

Connor has guts and doesn't take BS from anybody. You got a problem with that, that's on you, buddy. And Connor ain't the only one. Ever watch CJF, Luka Garza, Joe T, and the rest of the Hawkeyes? They ain't exactly wilting daisies like you.

Illinois and the refs were 100% at fault for every issue, including the one at the end of the game. And if you'd allow it, I could provide thousands of witnesses and plenty of evidence, but then you wouldn't like that because it would not fit your narrative.

C Mac was "instigating" the Cheatin' Illini into those hard hacks with 2 seconds left? So you mean C Mac somehow made the Illini player to stab at the ball, hard, while we were running off the last 2 seconds by standing with the ball.

Iowa nice is not a winning philosophy on the court. The belligerence is Fran's best selling point.

Look, calm down. This is a message board where we post our takes. Illinois took a swipe at the call, Conor defended the ball, ref pushed him away to avoid problems, walking away Conor gave some looks back at Illini players and may have said something. Illinois coach took offense.

If it was off camera how did you see it ?

Uhh because I was there. Why do you claim I didn’t see it?

Say what you want. I’d rather have Connor on the Iowa team any day over playing against him. He’s a fighter and if he wasn’t many would be saying he’s too lax or only plays because daddy’s the coach. Give him props. Today he played a strong role and played it well!

Bad take by rocket. Illinois was pissed about the dunk which is why they called TO with 4 seconds left and tried to foul. Inexplicably, the ref didn’t call and let the guy hack at Connor. Then the Illinois assistant started walking on the floor chirping at Connor as he walked to bench. He did acknowledge as most would.

Not sure what Connor was supposed to do on the long pass and dunk? Wait for them to foul him? This is on Illinois.

totally agree - this one is on the officials. If Illinois wants to foul, so be it, but the ref has to control the game at this point to avoid having the situation get ugly. The ref didn’t do his job, which is to call the foul and move down the court for free throws, then it’s game over. Instead, the situation escalated and he decides for some reason to chase after CM like it was his fault for some unknown reason.

Settle down guys. Rocket is just being objective mmmkay. At work they consider him the voice of reason. People really admire his ability to separate emotion from analytical observation.

For Fuks sake guys. Even if it was a bad take, it’s just a bad take. Not saying it was at all btw. Why so personal? Get a grip. For all those that have made personal comments, good for you. Congrats. Do you want to fight me too? Do I need a life? What else?
