“We have a situation that is all of our own doing. This is the University of Iowa. You cannot get out of jail on Thursday and play on Saturday. That’s not how it works here,” Ferentz said.
I never understood the people who do not like KF not liking BF.......they are not very alike at all. KF would never say anything like this, not saying I have a problem either way. However; BF better back things up because he has taken shots at Nebby, ISU, Minny and now MSU. Granted all were deserving shots but KF is pretty smart about what he says and does not say. I think BF is a great coach and I like his confidence, but won't mean much unless he puts up points this year....I have a suspicion that the offense is feeling pretty good going into 2018 (minus 1st game and 2 new OT's)
Re-emerging how?Huge Hawk and KF fan, but before we get on our moral high horse, the rhabdo story is reemerging.
I haven't heard it re-emerge from anyone. A lot was learned from what happened at Iowa that was passed on to many schools. Changes were made to prevent it from happening again.Huge Hawk and KF fan, but before we get on our moral high horse, the rhabdo story is reemerging.

They pushed their athletes too hard and at a bad time. Nothing more and nothing less- mistake-yes immoral-no. If this is all people can come up with in 20 years............I think we are doing just fine. As a coach myself there is a very fine line between pushing athletes to the max and then crossing that line. I have done it myself and every coach I have ever associated with has as well- it is a learning processDid Iowa do something immoral in regards to the rhabdo incident?
I agree, but I also find KF lack of look at me look at me approach very refreshing as well. Not saying BF is that type- but there are plenty of coaches around our borders that are like thatNow, if he turns out to be a great OC is still TBD ... But, I enjoy listening to Brian ... I like his intensity and I like he isn't vanilla in his responses. I appreciate him being candid in his interviews ... It's refreshing ...
Oh I agree 100% ... and thankful we don't have a Fleck on our sidelines ...I agree, but I also find KF lack of look at me look at me approach very refreshing as well. Not saying BF is that type- but there are plenty of coaches around our borders that are like that
I have felt very fortunate my entire life as a Hawkeye football fan. Fry-KF, different approaches but both very good menOh I agree 100% ... and thankful we don't have a Fleck on our sidelines ...![]()
Agree ... Two incredible human beings who just also happen to be good football coaches. My best Hayden memory is during college I was covering the Hawks while I attended ISU ... I was in the Iowa lockerroom ... Hayden coming up to Lew Montgomery ... in his Southern draw ... and telling him what a fine game "you played young man." Classic Hayden.I have felt very fortunate my entire life as a Hawkeye football fan. Fry-KF, different approaches but both very good men
Where's the entire story????????? I'd like to know what he's talking about. Thanks
It seemed to impact the athletes that weren't continually working out the most, others that were doing workouts prior to seemed to be fine. IIRC it was right after the holiday break. They pushed their athletes too hard and at a bad time. Nothing more and nothing less- mistake-yes immoral-no. The problem with living in ivory towers is they look strong from the outside but you never know when they will start to fall.I love it. We are Iowa! We have claimed the moral high ground.
But Dantonio is a dirtbag
I am assuming this is from personal experience being a Nebraska fan. This is particular true when you talk about Tom Osborn- it seems as time goes on the "shadiness" of Huskerland of the 80's and 90's slowly has come to light. The problem with living in ivory towers is they look strong from the outside but you never know when they will start to fall.

Speaking of Osborn - I saw an article a few weeks ago that Frost went golfing with one of the infamous Peters boys. This is just NOT a good look - he couldn’t find someone with a little cleaner past than Peters to go swing the sticks with?
Jason Peter is just a recovering drug addict, never did anything illegal. He's like the Charles Barkley of Nebraska football.
Was thinking the same thingI really don't have a problem with Frost and Peter's playing golf. But to say Jason Peter never did anything illegal may be a bit of a stretch. When did crack cocaine become "legal".
Was thinking the same thing
Not Guam...that's a place that is too good for Dantonio...Great stuff. Even before Dantonio's shadiness became apparent, I still hated him. I think it was his facial expressions. He's so damn smug. I really think he feels he's beyond reproach. I'd love to see him fired and relegated to coaching at a high school in Guam.

Yes, all true had some fun times in Guam. 24 years AF.I've been told good things about Guam. Pacific beauty. Lots of military personnel there, kind of Hawaii West. Not much chance of the Japanese attacking again.
Okay time while there during Army cross training 1967.Yes, all true had some fun times in Guam. 24 years AF.
Just one chance to punch that dude in the face. Just one. I'll do the jail and community service bit for it. I'll make beds in the shelters. I'll scrape gum off the damn sidewalks. Give me one good shot at him.
Well I certainly do not disagree with you one bit, however; you are still probably a better man than meChristian Peter the rapist played a valuable role in winning a national title.
No thanks, not at Iowa. I would rather finish 8-5. If you disagree then I am a better man than you.
