Hey Maga & Rs how is that economy looking?

I will tell you... Yet another thing that shit for brains is ruining. Who would have seen this coming.

Maybe next time the dems won’t select the absolute worst candidate possible and actually hold an election for the democrat nominee. Millions of Biden voters sat it out, and not because they fell back in love with Donald Trump.

Either the candidate was terrible with terrible messaging, terrible ideas, and couldn’t beat a convicted felon

Or

The candidate was great there’s just millions of left wing racist misogynists, who refused to vote for a black woman.

Or

Joe didn’t get as many votes in 2020 as has been claimed for the last 5 years.

So which of the three is it?

Starting to look like crashing the economy is a feature, not a bug of the trump agenda.

The most dangerous President is a lame duck who doesn't give a damn how his party will do in next mid-term election.

That's trump who has surrounded himself with lap dog syncopants this time who will never tell him the truth.

This will be great fodder for the left probably for the next 2-3 quarters. I think a recession is likely, particularly with the focus on cutting waste in combination with the condition of the economy when Trump entered office, and the long overdue market correction which will have a negative impact on 401k/stocks.

Massive cuts to government spending and the elimination of government jobs are both positive for the long term economic prospects of America, but have a negative impact on GDP in the short term.

In that sense it actually kind of IS a feature, not a bug... BUT we aren't going to know probably for 12-18 months, which conveniently will align with the timing of mid-term elections, and I would be willing to bet that timing is not lost on team Trump or anyone in Washington.

Nonetheless, the Dems will have full license to hoot and hollar about it in the coming months, and Rs will just have to deal with it.

Again, it's the Dems fault the GOP selected Trump out of a large field of primary candidates, right?

Ever the apologist for the fascist.

We HAD to burn the house down!! We had ROACHES!!!

Care to explain how aligning with Russia and NK plays into your economic “analysis”? A 4D chess move?

A vegetable can beat him… but it’s a vegetable the dems actually chose over the other whacko candidates. The party spoke in 2020 about how they felt about cackles, ya’ll didn’t listen and now we are stuck with Trump when all you needed to do was not select the one person on the planet who couldn’t beat Trump, and in fact made him stronger and more emboldened.

Nice work.

Crashing our economy, isolating ourselves militarily from our European allies, creating fear and silent acceptance in our government are all something that are extremely beneficial. For Russia. But Rupert Murdoch tells them it is good for us so it must be true…

So you are saying Biden could have beaten him if Joe stayed in the race?
Bidens approval rating was under water for several years.
Dems recognized Joe's mental decline after debate and did the right thing.
Why didn't Republicans do the right thing with Trump in their nominating process?

Or even now?
Stand up with courage and take one for the country,Republicans!

So far in this thread I’ve heard it’s the Dems who are at fault for us having Trump. Now I’m not a dem, but how in the ever-twisted-logic of the MAGA brains is this still a talking point? In order of importance here is who we should be blaming for our current situation:
  1. Trump voters - especially those who “held their nose” and voted for the guy because they thought he would be “better” for the economy and he would drop prices
  2. People who refused to vote for President in the election
  3. People who voted third party - looking at you Stein voters, especially the one’s that did it to protest Gaza
  4. Joe Biden’s family/handlers - pieces of shit who encouraged a feeble minded old man to keep in the race
  5. Joe Biden - he is sometimes lucid and should have known better. F*ck him.
  6. The democratic leadership who failed to give Biden the hard message earlier. A dem primary would have made all the difference
You know who is not to blame? Anyone that voted for Harris, including most dem voters.

If you are in one of the above 6 groups I hope you do some hard introspection on whether the juice was worse the squeeze.

jo and Shit4Brains spent 4 YEARS building this back better and it’s finally coming to fruition?

Lol.

Since when do government jobs contribute substantially to economic growth or recessions? Oh, and would you like to talk about the economies Obama and Biden inherited compared to the economies Trump has walked into?

But, yeah, let’s go with Trump’s “concept”-based economic acumen is so unrivaled that everything he is ****ing up now are just strategic positioning of chess pieces that will align beautifully with the midterms. The tariffs set to go into effect this week will just further add to the brilliance of Donald John Trump—cause a train wreck to the economy in the short term to own the libs and queers only to see a magic wave of a wand before the midterms in which “the greatest of greatest economies ever” will come to fruition.

I’m pumped. I can’t wait to see all this economic greatness manifest in 18 months. I mean, I am at the edge of my seat in rapt anticipation. After all, Trump knows so much about economic greatness that even Alan Greenspan is impressed.

This is going to be a hoot. 😝

I agree we need to cut costs. But you act like it is somehow binary. As if the way we are going about this was somehow absolutely necessary. It is not. There are better, more predictable ways to cut costs that would probably yield FAR more savings than the Doge appproach. Instead of trying to weed out “fraud” the better choice is to simply decide what we are deprioritizing and eliminate it. But that would require Congress to weigh in and they seem incapable of actually doing their job. So we get this chaotic approach of firing, then hiring back. Of finding fraud that turns out not to be real fraud. Of claiming savings that are mythical.

The way we are going about things has massive negative consequences beyond the fact that lower government spending will reduce GDP. The Musk/Trump approach is destroying consumer confidence, it is making it hard for investors to predict returns which manifests in volatility…and markets generally don’t like volatility.

There was another way, but we elected a moron into office and he and Congress have abdicated their responsibility to the world’s richest man. You have managed to make our country a dystopian comedy.

The answer is a lot of Biden voters were stupid to not vote AGAINST TRUMP. There are all kinds of voting "experts" who talk about voting against a person, a law, a bill, a resolution.

You are right that there were a lot of voters who sat out due to Israel's massive killings and bombings of Gaza etc, there were voters who couldnt vote for a woman especially of color, there were voters who sat it out because of inflation and the other issues. And some Biden voters may have voted for Trump rather than just not voting.

But I hope people learn that they CAN use their vote to turn away a terrible/bad/crazy candidate or law

This seems like a nice thread filled with some of the smartest, most informed posters, so maybe I could get the answer to the following question here...since no one touched it elsewhere? It does relate to the topic at hand:

You guys are so weak and stupid and desperate for this country and President to fail. Answer the question I keep asking, but can't get answered: In Trump's first term, we listened to you idiots babble for nearly four years--until COVID--the good economy was due to the biden/0boma economy he was handed. Now, the biden/harris economy, couldn't even hold-up until Trump was sworn in? How does that work? Help me understand that phenomenon?? Next, explain how jo driving mortgage rates to 20 year highs in Trump's fault? Next, explain how jo filling the housing stock with ILLEGALS which drove up prices to record levels while taking inventory out of the market, is Trump's fault? Next, explain how jo drastically increasing every aspect of home ownership from insurance to utilities, is Trump's fault?

Get your house together and then worry about ours. None of this is a surprise to you guys but you couldn’t bother to take the necessary steps to stop it You guys cried for 4 years about the day democracy almost died, and then put the nail in the coffin.

Hell even Jake Tapper wrote a book about how everyone knew about Joe and tried to help cover it up.

You know what, things would be I am highly sure nice and calm right now if Kamala was Prez. She might not be a great prez but a good one with very highly qualified advisors around her.
