The economy that has been propped up for the last 4 years artificially will be let go and it could get ugly early. They will do everything they can to dump an economic mess in his lap.
You forgot stupid, corrupt, lying pieces of shit. You aren't helping the perception that MAGA isn't hateful and selfish.
I think a lot of Americans are going to miss the relative calm of the Biden years in ways they don’t anticipate yet.
Do you mean like trump did to biden? They will do everything they can to dump an economic mess in his lap.
I guess if you are admitting that COVID was released on purpose.Do you mean like trump did to biden?
Are you SURE about that?Enjoy the day Nelly, life will go on. There will be changes 2 years from now and a new president in 4 years.
I guess that trump implemented tariffs and then had to bail out farmers, he passed on doing anything about the pandemic, which by your stupid comment proves you are an idiot, bailed on doing anything for transportation logistics. Biden was handed a piece of shit and did surprisingly well, not that you understand or care.I guess if you are admitting that COVID was released on purpose.
SS won't be there when I retire. That much is for sure.GOP has shown no interest in stabilizing Social Security; I do not foresee any change there, and things can unravel quickly if not addressed.
I do not expect that to change; lots of flyover country seniors will be in for a rude awakening when they have benefits dropped to 60-70% of what they were promised.
We'll have to see how much of Project 2025 Trump is "unaware of", because I suspect we're going to see some ugly changes that are going to result in some bad unintended consequences for average Americans.
Because theres no way for it to actually happen, he will push that direction but he is an over seller. I think he was demonized for the 11 million comment, so not sure he was let off the hook. Did Kamala get hammered for the 25K to first time home buyers with the fine print basically being a giveaway to the generation poor and immigrants?Again another interpretation of his words. He said he was going to deport 11 million people. Do you think there are 11 million who committed crimes here or in their homeland? If not you are just letting him off the hook. Why? Why does he get that treatment and all other politicians (especially the ones on the left) don't get that treatment?
I think the tariffs and tax cuts for the rich are real, which is actually why I couldn't vote for him. If the Dems got off the Woke wagon to hell, they would own the midwest. They are all fake news talking points.
@WDSMHAWK do you not think that stuff had anything to do with the republican win?I think the tariffs and tax cuts for the rich are real, which is actually why I couldn't vote for him. If the Dems got off the Woke wagon to hell, they would own the midwest.

Or they knew what they were getting in both candidates as Trump was already in office and Harris essentially is right now.No. What's new to me is voters enthusiastically just accepting that and not trying to hold the person accountable. Dems seem to be held accountable on this I don't understand why trump isn't? Instead reasons are just made up. "oh of course he won't do that I think he will do this instead" and people are just ok with it. What is it about him that it's this way for him and not others?
The other difference is at least others attempt to do things. Like Biden with student loans. He at least showed effort but he can point to "well the courts shut it down"... but trump can just say wild things and then he doesn't even attempt them and people are like "eh it's ok and they just interpret what they think he will do. Why is that ok to you? I'm genuinely asking
And they benefit most who pay incomes taxes in American.
Nope
They benefit the top 1%. People who do not actually hold regular jobs.
And the loss of that revenue is a major contributor to our deficits. Which are projected to balloon another $9T under what Trump and conservatives have proposed.
You won't hear a peep about the deficit now though. You know that? We all know Mark the national debt man will be stepping aside. I volunteer to step in and make sure everyone is aware of it on a regular basis. Sound good @markfromj ?Nope

Nothing of much consequence. So you didn't get a tax cut when the bill became law? You must not make much.

who doesnt' have equal rights?Folks who push for equal rights for all Americans are not "woke".
That is simply common decency, and the foundation of our Constitution.
He won because of Covid, in my humble viewBiden's campaign in 2020 was further left than Kamala's this time around and he won going away. So I don't think the woke stuff made a difference.
You are in the minority. More than half of Americans think your views are full of shit. They are tired of it. Keep it up and the same results will smack you in the face.
- America's top secrets are going to be available to the highest bidders.
- Tariffs are going to tank much of the Main St economy.
- More tax cuts for the rich will balloon the deficits, reduce $$ to municipalities from federal grants for infrastructure (one of the things a MAGA was on here complaining about his property taxes going up - that gets worse when localities cannot rely on outside grants/fed $$)
- If GOP extremists enact Project 2025 provisions, they will gut the competent civil servants of the federal government - expect more grift and waste, just like Russia deals with, so the rich can get richer and Main St gets poorer
- If Trump surrounds himself with people who will ignore the Constitution, things may get very bad for Rule of Law.
Biggest concern is that the current GOP seems spineless to hold up any guardrails here. Unless that changes, America is in for some rough years IMO.
So we are supposed to just go "ignore what he said he won't ACTUALLY do that"?
I've heard this a lot and I've heard several different interpretations of his tarrifs. None of them ever make me feel better. I'm a trust the experts guy and they all seem to be predicting doom based on them. Hopefully they are all wrong I guess
The Supreme Court is what upsets me the most actually but I don't want to get into that here there is no way that conversation can be beneficial. I'm genuinely here trying to understand why so many would pick this route and hopefully gain any hope I can it won't be as bad as I think it will.
Are you SURE about that?
My company absorbed the tariff costs and looked for other suppliers where a tariff wouldn’t be implemented. We didn't see inflation previously when Trump imposed tariffs. This time won't be any different. Additionally, many companies will move their manufacturing to the U.S. -- which will have many positive impacts.
We should fire a bunch of government workers. If they want to work, they can perform many of the jobs being done by the migrant workers.
No, I just hope you are right.100% If we are both still here in 4 years I would wager $100 on that with you. Up for it?
No, I just hope you are right.
The people who post on this board don't think like the average presidential election voter. We are much more invested and engaged. The average voter pays little attention to the issues that are discussed here. I don't understand Trump's appeal but I think that is because I'm more engaged. I suspect the typical voter doesn't find some of Trump's behavior alarming because that don't know about or just have kind of heard about it in passing.ALL politicians say things that help get them elected, most know they can never actually accomplish it. This is not unique to one party or the other.
My guess on his popularity is based on a number of things. I watched CNN or maybe MSNBC, and they showed a map of counties in the US with various shades of brown (and a very few green counties) The colors detailed the counties where wages outpaced inflation. Those very few, and I mean very few, counties were signified in green. The counties where inflation outpaced wages were in brown, the darker the brown was the worse off people were in their day to day lives, affordability of living I suppose. A few green counties in the entire US, a huge majority of the country was darker brown in color. It had to be close to 98%. The big picture economy is great, the individual economy not so much according to that map. They feel Trump will help them in that area.
I obviously can't speak for others, but that is a big reason in my opinion.

I’m think he will only get to deport illegals who have committed crimes here or in their homeland
who doesnt' have equal rights?
that didn't answer my question. Who doesn't have equal rights?Gay marriage was one, only recently enabled.
Just a few decades ago, it was inter-racial marriage.
Women miscarrying are already being denied preventive care to eliminate the risk they will develop serious complications.
Watch for IVF and certain conception drugs being on the chopping block soon.
I'm reminded of an OBGYN who posted a story about her patient who was getting an exam for a uterine/cervical procedure and was given a prescription for one of the "abortion drugs", which is required pre-op to soften up those muscle tissues so the surgeon has easier access.
Pharmacist would not fill the prescription because "it was an abortion drug". Angry OBGYN had to call the pharmacy while on her vacation, and demand it be filled as "my patient has not had a period since the Nixon administration" and this drug has nothing to do with "abortion".
Watch for loads of consumer rights/protections evaporating, workplace rights, etc. Chevron Doctrine evaporating has now put judges in charge of what is "safe" or "not safe" for environmental and medical options. That's going to get very very messy. Under these new "rules", there is zero chance things like asbestos or anything else would ever be deemed "unsafe", and regular Americans will bear the brunt of what Big Business wants so it can maximize profits at our expense.
I think it’s somewhat realistic that the GOP burns Trump. Vance has stated he doesn’t like Trump, right? I doubt that suddenly changed, but he’s smart and he (and the GOP) can use Trump. Look at 2016 to 2020. Trump was the means to an end packing the federal courts with conservative justices.

I'm not going to bet on something that I dread might happen!I'm right. This one time. How about we just wager bragging rights? Up for that?
I love these posts because the irony is just so rich.Morning Nelly
Just because Trump said he was going to do it doesn't mean he actually will. I think the massive blanket tariff talk will be adjusted to some tariffs.
Government has been bailing out the farmers with subsidies for a LONG time, since the Great Depression I think.
We all want to trim Government spending, but we have to accept that some of those cuts are going to be in programs / services we have a passion for. You can't just cut 'the other programs'. You will most likely be correct on your assessment here. Hopefully other areas of the big picture economy will grow and there will be high paying jobs out there for more citizens.
I never want any party to control the house, senate and presidency. I would assume a few Supreme Court Justices will retire so younger conservative judges will be brought in which might not make you feel better either.
Enjoy the day Nelly, life will go on. There will be changes 2 years from now and a new president in 4 years.

We couldn't elect Harris because of ....some policy that was tooooo much!
Trump? Oh, of course he won't implement any of the policies he promised.
We voted on this issues!!!
That wasn't an improvementIt's more like, I'm sorry Mr. Smith that you had a 2.0 GPA in liberal arts. That investment didn't payoff. You should have probably taken an accounting class or two.
And by the way, you won't have a government pension when picking apples. Hopefully, you will make better investment decisions as you move forward in your life.
And by the way, social security won't be there when you are of retirement age.
