Hey pickup truck guys

Who are you Karen to say someone doesn't need a truck that large?

Oh oh big nuts is here.

I Drive a f-150 xlt, nothing special being in the construction world. I refuse to go any bigger because I don’t want to ever pull the dump trailer

It's not just guys. Couple weeks ago, I was almost run over by a young gal on 380 going north.
Guess she felt I was in her way going home to cook super.

In any case, I’m sure it’d be big enough to make the lady in your life cream and scream while you’re out blowing pickup drivers and recording stats.
Tiny peens do not make any woman cream, and only scream in horror. I’m sure you have plenty of experience with the screaming or laughing.

I really wish the auto industry would go back to making a small pickup truck. Not everyone needs a truck that can haul half a lumber yard. I'd like to have a small beater pickup that I can do simple errands with on the weekends. It doesn't need to be my daily driver and I really don't want it to be.
My brother had an old Datsun pickup that I think he paid $2500 for. It ran great but it was nothing to look at. I think the original owner was a painter because it had hooks for ladders and was covered in paint splatters. Some jackass at Home Depot hit it with his F-250 and totalled it or he'd still have it.

Ford Maverick.

Ford Maverick.

That's just it. The other automakers need to make something like this too.

Just look at any new truck dealership nowadays. They are bursting at the seams with unsold full size pickups. Hell, Stellantis could full stop production on Rams for 4-5 months and still not have sold all of what's currently piled up nationwide.

Hyundai Santa Cruz. Toyota Stout in the works as well. There will be more.

I don’t think it’s necessarily the truck that’s the problem. It’s more that it costs the same as a small house.

True story, in was in the market in early 22, looking to replace my 17 year old Silverado. Only dealership I could find with a new Chevy( new made more sense if you remember the market then) was Laura Chevy in Sullivan missouri. They lift and put big tires on all the trucks they get in. I like the way it looks, but it turns like shit and the road noise sucks. I’m selling it and getting an old Bronco

No shit. The anti truck people never have to haul anything? As a homeowner I couldn’t imagine not having one. And people borrow it all the time….

Depends on how often you have to do it. Something you might have to do once a year it seems excessive to buy a super expensive truck for that.

There are certain truck owners who use them for their intended purpose. But I would estimate 75% of them have them because they are insecure about their masculinity. Which explains things like truck balls and how you constantly see giant pickup trucks riding your bumper.

Personally I drive a Ford Focus. Got it cheap from my dad, I can drive it to work and back 5 days a week plus grocery shopping and other errands and I still only fill it up like once every 2 weeks.

Family car is a mini-van.

Certain drivers who never haul anything and only drive them because they think they are cool shouldn’t be lumped in with those who actually use them as intended and are loaned out to people who don’t have one yet need it now and then. Some posters in this thread seem to overlook that…I paid 20 grand 6 years ago for my 2010 Ram.

I have no idea what you’re talking about, so that must be something you’ve experienced that I have not.

Perhaps the embarrassment is what has driven you to suck off pickup drivers? Who knows?

No I agree, I don't like to judge things on the individual level because I don't know a certain individual's life situation and what they do.

I do however judge trends and I can tell you that it's extremely clear that a large percentage of people who own full sized pickup trucks rarely use them to haul anything and buy them just for image.

I mean my dad has a full sized pickup, diesel engine an old one probably more than 20 years old at this point. But the only time he ever drives it is to haul something or pull something which is probably at least once every 2 weeks if not once a week for him. So I get it.

I also know that if I'm being tailgated on the road 75% of the time it's by a full sized pickup truck.

Yep. When the transaction prices of full sized trucks increases up to 50% in 5 years, there will be a tipping point hit at some point (for various reasons) where people will stop buying. They are still selling pickups, just at a drastically lower rate than what's being built.

The new pickups are indeed glorious - but just how much pickup does the AVERAGE buyer need?

The fact that there is such a thing as a +$100,000 MSRP pickup being sold (let alone built) to me borders on insanity. IT'S A FRIGGIN' PICKUP!

Exactly. Might as well get an RV at that point and sell the house.

The auto industry makes many small pickup trucks.

What about the SUV's that are just as big and more expensive, what's your beef against them?

Shouldn’t the balls be hanging off the front bumper instead of the rear bumper?

I’ve studied humans and the animal kingdom and have never seen rear-facing ballz. All I think of when I see a turbo diesel truck with balls is why are you driving backwards? Now, if I looked in my rear-view mirror and saw a tough nutsack I would say to myself “that guy means business.”

If the balls are hanging off the rear, makes me wonder where the equipment attached to them is at.🤮
