Highlights of the Iowa Minnesota Game

I watched the first half at home and had to run out. I forgot to record the game. I found out Iowa won. I get home and pop up YouTube for the highlights: The 3-4 minute version told me nothing, starting with Iowa already up 8-0. And the hour long First Half started with Iowa up 6-0. Shitty officiating and ignoring Garza’s great start...just sucks

When I got YTT I selected Iowa basketball and chose to record all of the games. I knew at my age I would forget.

From what I remember Bakari made two clutch FTs and Connor made one. Minny missed a couple key shots and Oturu missed a clutch FT.

That was unbelievable. I was listening on the radio and it sounded like his first two were weak. His 3rd was almost as unbelievable as his 5th. Officiating was bad and they let the guys play physical with the exception of head scratching foul calls. Almost seemed like they knew they needed to call some fouls and just randomly blew the whistle

Officiating was bad and they let the guys play physical with the exception of head scratching foul calls. Almost seemed like they knew they needed to call some fouls and just randomly blew the whistle

Game was getting out of hand so they put the whistles back in their mouths.

Not the best-called game by any stretch. Lots of ticky-tack fouls called, with maulings ignored. It wasn't biased against one team or the other, really, just poorly officiated and very very inconsistent.

AND, the headline for the 3-minute highlight from the B1G is, “Hawkeyes Hold on for Win”. They came back down 8 with 2 minutes left. Jesus!

That's an understatement. I would describe it as the weakest 5th foul call on a player-of-the-year candidate in the final minute of a close game in NCAA BB history.

Put it this away, if Garza played for MSU, Duke, KU, UNC he’d had 1 foul for the game.

There is no other team that I like to steal a win and rub their nose in it than Minnesota. Beat downs of ISU are good and just beating Wisconsin are good enough for me. Staying tough and not giving up won this game for us.

Not to mention on his 4th foul, which was a foul, however there was an obvious travel by Oturu on the play therefore should’ve never been called. Right after it happened went to commercial and rewatched it. Pretty easy call to make and the refs blew it.
