Hooters is closing dozens of ‘underperforming’ restaurants

There were other issues there as well.

Yeah…just passing on that one conversation…and it actually did make sense. Going to be hard to hire the type when they could go five miles west and there is 10,000 jobs looking for the same type of person that pays much more.

And obviously talking about a conversation that happened a year before they closed after the rebrand. I am sure there was plenty of other issues.

I really thought the new shorts would save them.

Would think that'd be part of the uni's at "Bunnies"....

I enjoyed my visit there, other than the result of the game.

Sounds like they have a good place lined up this fall.

I bet the one in Tallahassee gets the axe. Terrible location and managed. Surprised it has survived last 10 years.

The whole Twin Peaks/Tilted Kilts/Hooters/Winghouse business model is struggling as a regional / national brand.

The Chicago area ones seem to still be going strong as of last week. Lots of advertising there too. Only once ate at one, as a pit stop outside Chicago for USA vs Ghana in the 2012 World Cup. Worst chain wings I’ve ever had.

Is there a hooters in Iowa?
Davenport and Counciltucky as far as I know. West Des Moines used to have one but Twin Peaks opened up and shut them down. TP closed as well during the pandemic. I laughed when they opened the TP and one of the local news stations was there doing a live broadcast as a businessman walked in as they put a camera on him and tried to ask a few questions. He looked like he’d just been busted. LoL.

Hooters seems so 1990s to me, which is approximately the last time I've visited one. They had a nice run, but that business model has run its course. I never found their food to be good enough to frequent it regularly, pretty average honestly.

Went to the Hooters in Destin 6 years ago....waitresses were meh and service was crap.

Food was meh. Haven't been back. CSB

Was just there last week while traveling through. Was just down the street from our hotel and we wanted a sports bar and some wings. Waitresses were a little underwhelming but the wings are pretty good still.

Hooters: "The wings are pretty average; but the breasts.......the breasts are just fantastic!!!"

Breasturants are basically on their way out. Like others have said, there are plenty of ways for men to satisfy their carnal needs without having to go to overpriced places with lousy food and feeling the need to impress with big tips, and young women with the right assets can make a lot more $ on various social media platforms without having to work a 10 hour shift dressed indignantly while pretending to be interested in every middle-aged man they serve. Hooters, Tilted Kilt, Twin Peaks, Show-Me's and all similar chains have been closing more and more locations yearly for probably 10 years now with very few new openings.

Last few Hooter's I've been to had a very worn out feel,.. felt almost embarrassed to be there.

@swagsurfer02, I went to a Daytona’s after a Des Moines Menace / Iowa Cubs doubleheader with U of I friends once, none of us having any idea what it was until walking in. Better food than Hooters. Then they had one on the far SW edge of CR, with a strip club next door and a porn shop down a few blocks the other way. No thanks! But TBH, our server at Daytona’s was cuter than any at the Hooters I went to.

My last visit to a Hooters ended when a giant Texas “water bug” (aka roach) crawled from under my table to the top of my cheeseburger. I pointed the critter out to my Hootress, who swiftly knocked it to the floor and stomped on it. A manager came by and asked if I’d like a new burger. I politely declined and left. The squashed bug was still on the floor.

Interesting….i didn’t know Daytonas was a franchise until you just said that. Also, the talent at the one in Des Moines wasn’t good. I think it closed nearly 14 years ago or so.

You guys are crazy. BWW wings and fries are great. The best of the chains, IMO.
U can buy a 15 pack of Purdue wings and put them in air fryer. For around 9.50. And the quality will be way better. With actual meat on the wing not drowned in sauce and breading.

The one in CB has to be close to closing. It’s exactly what your expect from CB.
