Dumbass bastards:

House Republicans on Tuesday said their one-time colleague, former Representative Liz Cheney of Wyoming, should face a criminal investigation for her role on the select committee that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.
A 128-page report from the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight said Ms. Cheney should be investigated for witness tampering. It accuses her of colluding with Cassidy Hutchinson, the former White House aide who became the committee’s star witness as it examined Donald J. Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
The report — released as Mr. Trump, now the president-elect, has been promising retribution against his political enemies, including Ms. Cheney — accused Ms. Cheney of using the select committee as a tool to attack Mr. Trump. It was spearheaded by Representative Barry Loudermilk of Georgia, the chairman of the oversight subcommittee.
Ms. Cheney defended her work on the select committee in a detailed statement, and called the Republicans’ report “a malicious and cowardly assault on the truth.”

She said the select committee had heard from “scores of Republican witnesses, including many of the most senior officials from Trump’s own White House, campaign and Administration” and produced “a highly detailed and meticulously sourced 800-page report.”
Ms. Cheney said Mr. Loudermilk’s interim report “intentionally disregards the truth and the Select Committee’s tremendous weight of evidence, and instead fabricates lies and defamatory allegations in an attempt to cover up what Donald Trump did.”

And people wonder why reportedly Biden is considering preemptive pardons.

It's always the democrats that first employ such drastic tactics (See Harry Reid and the nuclear option).

If Biden does blanket pardons then it sets a precedent from which there is no return. Every adminstration from that point forward will grant blanket pardons.

To be clear - I don’t think he should issue those pardons.

Do you really think this would even be on the table if not for knowing stuff like this was coming? Cheneys only “crime” here was not supporting Trump.

Let’s ignore how Mitch blocked an SC appointment in your “it’s always the democrats” tirade.

So you believe that the witness tampering charge is unmerited?,.. I really don't know.
Without a doubt.

I disagree with Liz Cheney on politics a lot. I’ve never had reason to question her integrity.

You’re turning a blind eye to much of the witness tampering Trump and co engaged in, both here and regarding several of his trials/legal issues.

At this point, who cares?

Our system has been broken for a long time and is pretty much irreversibly in the shitter.

Enjoy the show.

So just your feelings then,.. understanding that any activities by Trump would be unrelated to Cheney's potential guilt...

Until proven otherwise, there’s zero reason to suspect Cheney here.

Curious to know why you think a report created by an avowed trump loyalist recommending criminal investigation against a Trump opponent has credibility.

Don't know that it does,.. but given Cheney's questionable position on numerous topics, she doesn't get an automatic pass from me.

If she is innocent, she has nothing to worry about, if she is guilty of something she needs to be held accountable as do the rest of her ilk.

Honestly, there's been a few things come up with the FBI investigations and the congressional hearings to warrant looking into her and others.

Well that's the point of charges and a fully adjudicated court case.

Post #8 indicates to me that you wouldn't be able to serve on the jury.
Do you honestly believe this would have been happening had Cheney stayed loyal to Trump?

You’ve complained about weaponization of the DoJ, that’s exactly what you’re endorsing here.
Isn't it the House Committee doing the investigation?
It’s a GOP-only report, penned by a Trump loyalist.

Republicans are good at forcing drastic actions. But in this case, Biden should not provide the pardons. Let them investigate Cheney. She should show them all the respect for the process that the people who failed to show up for subpoenas did.

Jesus, they've been investigating this for a year or more now. They've had the FBI and a bunch of other people in front of the committee. It has nothing to do with Trump making the call. Shady sh*t happened and the FBI admitted to it and Cheney covered it up/left it out of their investigation. She needs to be investigated and vetted.

I'll say this for the 1 millionth time. When you invite gang members, garden variety criminals, terrorists, child trafficers, drugs into our country, and do nothing to stop it. When you give money to rich college kids (who agreed to pay it back when the took out the loans) that congress never approved, even after the SCOTUS said it was illegal, and then you allow antisemites to storm our colleges and you treat crime by "not" locking up criminals but prosecute good samaritans, you get what you deserve when you lose an election.

Ciggy, What part of the above do you find funny?

Some would argue that it's been going on here in the U.S. these last few years. Some would argue that you're projecting.
Some would argue that nowhere in this thread did you provide cause to investigate Cheney, or anyone who investigated Trump's crimes. The only thing you did was apologize and deflect in order to protect a felon.

I did. The text messages are public record now. Witness tampering is a felony. Cheney is the felon. Her and her father (unrelated to her law breaking)

Its not my job to provide cause for an investigation.
