Impossible to predict without knowing who the matchups are.

Appears we wouldn't have any shot of beating Purdue, for example. Now watch, we'll get them and win by 20.

The Hawkeye's of two months ago would have had a real shot at winning the tourney the Hawkeye's of now will struggle to win. The light bulb needs to turn back on for this team.

As already stated, depends on who they're playing. Given their history under Fran, losing game 1 is a likely possibility.
To have a little more confidence going into NCAA tourney first round game it would be nice if they could get at least 1 win in the BTT.

Credit Fran for finding Garza and credit Garza for working his ass off to become 1 of 2 best players in the B1G (hard to argue with what Winston does but with more talent around him) and strong contender for NPOY. With that being said, the talent around Garza is blah IMO. Connor, Bakari, Joe T, and Pemsl have about as much offensive firepower as Trinidad-Tobago's military. JW and CJ have shown glimpses of what Iowa could look like with a more balanced attack, but CJ has been dinged up and JW can't create his own shot.

I get that Jbo is out but that wasn't unexpected. Nunge would likely help, but he hasn't shown anything to lead me to believe he can be a difference maker and we haven't seen enough of PMac to know what he is capable of.

Iowa's guards are not very good and to win in March you need good guard play. It's great that Connor has whatever assist-to-turnover ratio he has but the team needs play making and some scoring from guys other than Garza or they won't win another game this year IMO. The attention Garza gets has created open looks most guards would salivate over and we have a trio of guys who can't throw it in the ocean which makes life that much harder for JW and CJ.

So assuming PSU beats Northwestern...
If we win we’re #4, as mentioned many times
If we lose and MSU wins we’re #6
If we lose and OSU wins we’re #7, unless Rutgers & Mich both win too (then we’re #8)

Forgot to list most likely opponents for each:
If 4, either PSU or OSU
If 6, winner of IU v (prob) Neb
If 7, vs Purdue (win or lose today)
If 8, vs Rutgers

So what you're saying is drop some of our guards and pick up a few free agents off the waiver wire before this season is over?.......

I think we beat Minny and Illinois but run out of gas against the Badgers in the semis. But that will good enough to land on the 5-6 line and then who knows depending on matchups. This is where the fun really begins.

In that they have won a total of four games in the conference tournament since Fran took over, winning the first game would seem an accomplishment. Winning two would be great because it would hopefully get them above an 8/9 seed.
