How good can Uthoff be? Let's rewatch every point @Iowa State - Video - 2:44

Now let's watch when they guard him in the second half. Seems as if every other team has figured this out.

So much less fading away, so much more aggression, and you can't tell he's not thinking he was pulling those threes in stride..

It pisses me off watching that. When you go off like that in the first half and then wilt in the second. You can say it was the other team guarding him. Some maybe but He was totally aggressive in the first half, taking shots the moment he was open, in the second half he just chose to pass on those and back his intensity off. Like.. well I did enough.. now its someone elses turn. Just have an average second half and we win that game.

this. You don't see him, Jok, or even Uhl with anywhere near the number of wide open looks they were getting earlier in the season.

None of his shots were really "open" though. He had a hand in his face most of the time or was far enough behind the line that no matter who was guarding him, he would've been open. He drove the ball inside and took guys one on one. He sets up for a shot before he catches the ball and gets it off quickly. He is still fading away on those shots, but there is no lateral movement. Look at the shot at 1:02. His feet are set. In the Wisconsin game, he got a pass on the corner for an open three. Rather than setting himself before he caught the ball, he caught it, started to go up, and then pulled it down before dribbling back towards the top of the arc. He then moved back towards the right and shot a fadeaway and missed. The Uthoff in this video would've taken the open three. Even though he didn't, I think it's the lateral movement affecting his fadeaways. I hope he watches this video before ll of the remaining games.
