How many books do you read per year?

Well I think that's obvious, one is visual and the other is listening. But you're still processing the same information and can learn the same things by doing either.
Yep - I was amazed when a coworker said they read around 10 books a week only to discover they were listening to books while doing data entry type work. I did a survey and half my Facebook friends considered listening as reading books (some were offended that anyone considered otherwise)

Oh, I probably average one every two weeks. Some weeks I read two, others times I don't read at all for a week or so.
Typically I'm reading one book and listening to another, but I have been giving my audible credits to my wife lately.

Was in the 4-6 range until the Russian attack on Ukraine and my time on line increased dramatically.
Wanted to mention I did read this book and recommend it.

Zero.

But Spotify said I listened to over 57,000 minutes of podcasts in 2023. I listen while commuting to work and riding bike.

If you're not already signed up - sign up for Bookbub. Every day there are deals in whatever genre you read.
I routinely pick up books for $2-3.

I usually hear a recommendation on the radio, in some other print form like a magazine, on TV or on the internet, and then go and take a look at it online to see what it's about. Those books that I do read I get probably 90% from my local library. If they don't have them they'll search for other libraries and do a trade. And if they can't do that they'll usually end up buying it. Great deal and great service.

I probably only get through 6-9 books per year. I wish I read more, but four kids, other distractions, slow reader, etc.
Actual books? None. However, I read the equivalent of at least 100 books a year, maybe a multiple of that for my job. If I factor in HORT 1,000 books.

Do magazines count? I get several but only for the articles, I barely notice the pictures.

Probably average the same yearly.

I’d probably do more if libraries had larger selection of new titles you could borrow or publishers figured out a way you could preview book. I hate paying $20 for a digital book and just guessing whether you’ll like it
Our library has a used book store which has a pretty good selection over various categories. You can buy these books for about $1 apiece so there is very little risk involved. All the books are donated to the library for resell purposes.

I assume I have ADHD, because I'm terrible at staying focused while reading. Read a couple of paragraphs and then realize my mind wondered off somewhere else and didn't actually retain what I read. I should take some Adderall and try to read a book to see if I can focus on it. I really wish I could.
