I think about 15,000
It wasn't 15,000.
To me, it seemed like Iowa brought bigger crowds to Lincoln two and four years ago. The crowd today was vocal, but I think I've seen bigger crowds from Iowa in the past meetings. I attribute it to 1) the weather, and 2) bigger trips coming up that fans are saving their money for (Indianapolis and big time bowl/playoff game)
sounded loud and looked like a lot of Hawks but appeared spread out all over the place
I was at the game, and the crowd is much more speckled in person than on TV. On TV the sea of red is a little more intense.Really didn't look to be that many on the wide ABC camera shots.
This is a true statement! No team takes over Memorial Stadium like Hawkeye fans!
A sell-out means all of the tickets were sold, not all the seats were filled. All of the tickets were sold last summer. There was a hole in the student section (as many were home for TG), and some empty club seats because people were watching from inside, otherwise most seats were filled. The streets and bars were overrun with Iowa fans, you could hear go hawks echoing throughout the stadium. Most including me wore black so it was hard to tell when looking around the stadium but it was very close to 15,000 btw the stadium was far from being a sellout crowd.
As of a week ago you could still purchase single game tickets from the University.A sell-out means all of the tickets were sold, not all the seats were filled. That is correct, those are all single seats and were purchased by boosters to keep the streak alive and the AD office sells them on their behalf for a fee.As of a week ago you could still purchase single game tickets from the University.
