How often do you get an oil change?

I aim for 5000, but it typically ends up closer to 7500, full synthetic. I second the importance of good filters, I also go with Wix. Change your own and save some legit money. Take the spent oil to the landfill recycling center every couple of years for no charge, easy peasy.

Fun story.. in college I had a mercury sable and completely ignored an oil change like an idiot for way too long. I went home for a weekend and it completely seized in the middle of the old i74 bridge. I was the reason traffic was backed up 14 miles. Tow truck and everything/csb

It depends on conditions, behavior and demands. Like I posted, my vehicle has a turbocharger which creates more heat and potentially more stress. If you drive at higher speeds, like interstate driving, or tow you are putting more stress by generating more heat which is the enemy of everything mechanical. Dirty or dusty conditions of course create potential issues if oil is not clean and filtered properly.

Maintaining the cooling system is often overlooked. Regular scheduled service takes care of this if you are an average driver using a vehicle as a primary driver. The once every 6 months or a year vehicle service runs the risk of inadvertent neglect.

Automakers should know what they're doing, and their recommendations should be adequate. I'm more cautious, and like NoleAtl said, you'll never be sorry changing oil too soon. I'm having Ford service the Bronco for the remainder of the general and drivetrain warranties.

I schedule engine service for <5000 intervals - not Ford's recommendations.
My daily driver has a turbocharger and the car has only notified me about once every 10k miles. Good enough for them for warranty purposes, good enough for me. Also, I’m not a mechanic but I always understood interstate miles to be much easier on a car, assuming you don’t drive like a raging asshole or it is stop and go in a major metro. I drive about 25 miles for a work day round trip, with 90%+ on the interstate. Most of it is tooling along between 60 and 75. That is not exactly high rpm driving.

They pick it up every 6k miles or so I would guess. My wife's gets picked up every 6 months because she doesn't put enough miles on her car to go by.
