How the Fvck…..

So true! You have to become a defender on that ball and break it up. RVZ did not belong on the field all season. He is just not physical enough yet to be out there.
Yeah, not sure who’s call was to play him - I am guessing the Captain had some input….😎

Judging by the high school recruiting and portal adds...things aren't getting better anytime soon.
I’m afraid this is more true than a lot of people realize. Iowa didn’t kick butt in the portal last season, but we brought in two solid offensive players that were major contributors; perhaps our 2nd and 3rd best offensive skill players. If they don’t do something similar this spring after the major fail this portal period….ouch.

A developmental program like Iowa, coming off an underachieving season, losing a lot of talent and having the worst HS and portal recruiting in the B1G….oh, boy.

Off topic, but why did we have a linebacker covering a wide receiver on one of the touchdown passes?
I think it was blown coverage. On the one touchdown you can see two defenders on one receiver on the opposite side running away from the person who caught the touchdown. I don't think that was the linebackers responsibility.

I wasn't blaming Higgins, I just don't understand how the secondary could be that far out of position.

He showed nothing in game play outside making a jum

He has done nothing outside of the jump ball play early against a cream puff secondary, He is not strong enough yet to play against more mature DBs who bullied Him badly . No way He was Iowa's best option for playing time and if He was that is even a worse condemnation on the Iowa WR room that has been prior lamented
There's a reason we have the worst receiving group in the country. Besides Gill, who had a solid season, here are our next 4 wide receiver stats for the season. VanderZee 9 games 14 receptions. Buie, 13 games 9 receptions. Howard 12 games 4 receptions. Weitjen 13 games 3 receptions, of which I believe 2 of those came yesterday. You just can't make this up. And there is zero help on the way.

Nice to have a QB who threw to the wide open guy and not the one being double-covered.

Communication! It seems like we had bad communication all season.

Now do WR TD’s. Not looking it up now, but I remember reading how McNutt had like 25 TD receptions in ‘10, and how no WR in the post-Stanley era has had more than 3, and how Ragaini has the most career TD in that time with 5. LOL. What a joke.

He had 28 for his career, so off just a bit! But, you're right 28 in a career compared to what we have now is just sad.

Lots of questions to be asked after this one.

How does Iowa act like they’ve never practiced a two minute offense?
They were instructed to play super-conservative football, take no chances, shorten the game, and hang on for the win. When that doesn't work out, and they are forced to play fast and ready at the end of the game, it's hard to flip that switch and play that style. They're simply not used to it. Up 21-14. Go slow. Up 24-14. Go slower. Up 24-21. Go even slower. Down 27-24. Ok, now we need you to go fast. They may work on it in practice, but not under the pressure of a game.

Added to the dismal outlook, you just know KF's age is being used in negative recruiting.

Even the few sunshine pimpers remaining here would likely agree.
