Iowa’s smothering defenseThey had 20 points at halftime.

UNC struggles of late people have noticed losing 4 straight and dropping out of top 25. But Nova is down this year. They went 0-3 in the Oregon tourney. I wouldn’t be surprised if they miss the tourney this year. These 2 wins could be like Iowa’s vs UVA last year. Beat big name brand but team down and ends as quad 2 W.Villanova and UNC have a collective record of 9-9.
Just because ISU beat two "blueblood" programs doesn't mean they beat two good teams.
This is the correct answer right here. If Iowa shoots like they did tonight they are tough to beat.Iowa State is very challenged offensively and Iowa is that good when they hit their 3's. When they don't they struggle.
Game tonight was very similar to that game in 1st half especially first 8 min. Isu was up 17-2 and St. John’s couldn’t buy a shot. Never really threatened after that and cruised to a victory.I watched them destroy Saint John's last weekend and the Johnnie's looked good on East Coast they are not trash. We made shots for once and our intensity was perfect.
Yep great pointGame tonight was very similar to that game in 1st half especially first 8 min. Isu was up 17-2 and St. John’s couldn’t buy a shot. Never really threatened after that and cruised to a victory.
Childish reply. You got lucky with the draws in the NCAA tournament. Very lucky.
Love the toughness and confidence Tony brings to the table when he is on. It is infectious throughout the team.Tony was at 100% tonight. A big plus for us.
He and Kelschauer were close to getting personal this evening.
Correct. These are not the UNC and Villanova teams we're used to seeing. They may be good wins by end of year, but as of right now, pretty meh.Villanova and UNC have a collective record of 9-9.
Just because ISU beat two "blueblood" programs doesn't mean they beat two good teams.
Of course it will, ISU will have a ton of good wins in Hilton.Correct. These are not the UNC and Villanova we're used to seeing. They may he good wins by end of year, but as of right now, pretty meh.
Beating ISU will probably be a good win for us by end of year as well.
Connor is finally healthyHaving Ulis, Perkins, and Conner handling their pressure, and getting into the offense efficiently made a big difference. Having Bowen as well is a huge plus for this team, even though he didn't get many minutes tonight. We have a good back court this year, and it's nice to see.
This was the saying "It's why you play the game" in action.
No way in a typical game Iowa goes 12/23 from 3. They probably won't repeat that shooting performance the rest of the season. Just enjoy that it happened tonight.
That is a sentence I have NEVER heard before (and probably not again for years)!!! LOLIowa’s smothering defense
While I would tend to agree he’s doing it. And made the sweet 16 last year with just as ugly of a team. You can’t play high major college basketball with Caleb Grill and Gabe Kalshur in your starting lineup.
That's a joke.
Didn’t they beat #1 North Carolina? They are trash.
Pretty much. It's tails they win, heads I lose with those people. Just want to rip on Iowa and Fran for whatever reason. Season is long, nothing motivates teams like getting your weaknesses exposed directly to you when playing good opponents and losing by double digits. It happened to Iowa against TCU and Duke. It will likely happen again this season against good teams when Iowa doesn't hit shots, doesn't do well at the little things, or both.Pretty ducking annoying the same people who thought we’d get murdered tonight are now here to say how bad Iowa state sucks.
Who is unranked now.Didn’t they beat #1 North Carolina?
Villanova is 4-5 UNC 5-4 and St John’s hasn’t really beat anyone of substance.I know. How?
ISU knew they had to stop Murray and spent all night looking for him.Yeah, we’ll see how the season plays out. I just expected Iowa State to be a lot better than they were tonight. I don’t think Iowa is that good.
Villanova is 4-5. Game went to overtime. Neutral courtThey beat St. John's, UNC and Villanova.
Scored more pointsI know. How?
Same can be said for taking a really good Iowa BB game and taking shots at our own football team. Why?Pretty ducking annoying the same people who thought we’d get murdered tonight are now here to say how bad Iowa state sucks.
Funny how clown fans insist that Carver is bad and then when isu shows up Carver intimidates them and they piss down their legs. You would think that if clown fans actually knew anything, isu would have won in Carver since 2006.First true road game for ISU. Kept doubling on defense and leaving Iowa open. Tonight, Iowa hit some open 3s (they didn't against Duke). Iowa's energy at the beginning of the game ... especially on defense was fun to see.
Iowa State is dogshit. That has nothing to do with tonight's game or their team in general as much as in Iowa State is just dogshit.
I am sure the voters felt differently than you or I do. They take history in to account more than what a team is doing this year.Villanova and UNC have a collective record of 9-9.
Just because ISU beat two "blueblood" programs doesn't mean they beat two good teams.
Great points.Villanova is 4-5 UNC 5-4 and St John’s hasn’t really beat anyone of substance.
Jay Wright retired, Nova is not Nova anymore. UNC was extremely over rated.Villanova and UNC have a collective record of 9-9.
Just because ISU beat two "blueblood" programs doesn't mean they beat two good teams.
You’re correct. Most of them don’t brush their teeth.Great points.
Last night, Iowa State looked like they would struggle with Colgate.
Pretty ducking annoying the same people who thought we’d get murdered tonight are now here to say how bad Iowa state sucks.
It works for a lot of teams. Izzo may have originated that strategy.Iowa State’s strategy is to foul continuously and hope the refs don’t call them all. When the refs do their job, the Cyclones tend to struggle.
I suspect ISU is going to be very feast or famine. They have to get turnovers with their traps because if they don't they will give up good looks and the turnovers compensate for their limited offense. Iowa is generally good at avoiding turnovers and they looked really well prepared to break the traps. Still turned it over a bit. I could totally see games where they snow ball teams with turnovers and run outs. Also tighter called games will be tough for them and they will likely be very effective in more physical games.maybe annoying..or maybe falls under who cares
We shall see how good ISU ends up at end of season. Last year they smoked Iowa...but they had Brockington and I would say that team last year was legit. This ISU team looked worse than Seton Hall team we beat and far worse than very tough TCU team that beat us like a drum or the 5-star loaded Duke team that beat us handily.
Could be off night for ISU + Iowa obviously was having insane 3pt shooting game which hadn't been the norm.
I hope that is sarcasm. WE beat a good rivalry squad. When you denigrate your opponent, what does it say about us beating them? They are trash.
