To me, it looked like the Kings ran out of gas, especially after the first half. The good news is that they haven't lost more than 2 games in a row so far, since November.

W/o the shitty officiating, and with Huerter in there, they might have kept pace.
But they really need to shore-up the defense to be able to regularly compete with the best teams in the league.

If KM plays in the remaining 10 Kings games, and maintains his 2.5 3pts/game pace:

  • he'll finish the season with about 200
  • he would potentially pass the current record at Portland at the end of March.

Playoff games would give him the opportunity for more

We can talk about the officiating being bad forever, and it is. The team played 5 games in 7 days in 4 time zones. Coming off of the loss at Utah, and then the very next day, play the #2 team in the NBA who's had a couple days until they play us. We were gassed. Defense? We've had issues with the defense all season long. Yes, it needs to be shored up.

That battle between the Bucks and Celtics on Mar 30. I want to see that one. The Bucks have beaten the Celtics twice this season. Curious to see if the Celtics prevail in this one, even thought it's in Milwaukee.

The NBA playoffs are gonna be nuts.

In the West, Golden State still scares me. I don't trust Denver as a #1 seed. Can the Kings make some noise and make it to as least the Conference semi-finals?

IMO, the defense (or lack thereof) will determine how far they can go. The Kings can score, that's widely known. But, how many times have I watched them in games and verbally expressed (screaming, actually), the need for getting stops? Sometimes they got stops and other times, not. The Kings can make some noise in the playoffs if they can draw a decent matchup in the first round, and home court with a top 4 seed. Keep pushing down on the accelerator to get that top 4 seed.
The West is still up for grabs. We have to get there first. We'll see... We're 8 games above the #10 spot in the loss column with 10 games to go.

End of the 1st half. Suns lead 67-56. Keegan with 6 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists. He picked up his 3rd foul just before the half ended. You give up nearly 70 points in a half, and a hill to climb going into the 3rd quarter, is not good news. The Kings locker room must be very sporty. Keegan played just 10:01 in the half.
It should be mentioned that the Suns bench scored 34 points to the Kings' 11. Keegan perfect 2 of 2 from 3.
