Keegan finished with a -31. Pistons are next. You know they can't wait for the Kings to play again tomorrow night @ Detroit @ 6PM on League Pass. Which Kings team will show up? Hard to tell.

Good question. Hopefully we find out in 2026, following his 4th season.

His first contract: 4 years / $36,371,093.

Here's a timeline:

His earnings:
$8,008,440: 2022-2023
$8,409,000: 2023-2024
$8,809,560: 2024-2025 (Kings exercised their club option on 10/21/2023)
$11,144,093: 2025-2026 (Kings' deadline to exercise their club option is 10/31/2024)

In 2026, he becomes a restricted free agent; the Kings can then make a qualifying offer.

For a player to become a restricted free agent, his team must submit a qualifying offer to the player between the day after the last game of the NBA Finals and June 29. The qualifying offer is a standing offer for a one-year guaranteed deal, which becomes a regular contract if the player decides to sign it.

More on restricted free agency, from NBA.com:

Restricted Free Agency

A restricted free agent (RFA) can sign an offer sheet with any team, but the player’s original team can retain him by matching the terms of that offer. The original team is said to have the “right of first refusal.”

Restricted free agency exists in the following situations:

• Following the fourth year of rookie “scale” contracts for former first-round Draft picks.

• For all veteran free agents who have been in the NBA for three seasons or less. The exception to this rule is a first-round Draft pick following his second or third season if his team doesn’t exercise its option to extend his rookie-scale contract for the following season. These players then become unrestricted free agents.

• A player coming off a two-way contract was on an NBA active or inactive roster for at least 15 days in the season beforehand.

There are five basic options for a restricted free agent:

• Accept his team’s prior qualifying offer, play out the season and become a free agent the next summer.

• Accept his team’s maximum qualifying offer (where applicable) and play under that long-term deal.

• Negotiate a new contract with his original team that is independent of the qualifying/max qualifying offer.

• Sign an offer sheet with another team through March 1, which his original team has an opportunity to match (see below).

• Negotiate a sign-and-trade if he hasn’t signed an offer sheet with another team.

• If there is no qualifying offer, contract or offer sheet signed for one year, the original team can submit a new qualifying offer and the player will be a restricted free agent the next summer.

What's a max deal worth? 5 years $250 million or so? $50 million per year, which would be nice... very nice!

Here are a couple minutes of highlights from last night.

As you will see, Keegan is scoring from all over the place. 8 two point goals; 3 three point goals. He's no longer parked behind the 3 point line.

Watch here:

i haven't
I saw an article referring to the Kings trade interests, and supposedly, "Keegan's game was not ascending." Tried to track that article down but I can't find it now. I watch a lot of Pods and I've heard that B/R never does the Kings any favors. James Ham and Sam Amick are good resources that I rely on. JMO.

76ers beat the Kings in a blowout 112-93. Keegan with 15 points and 8 rebounds.
I watched until it was obvious the Kings were going to lose big. Keegan was red hot and then the Kentucky boys wouldn't get him the ball. An example was in the 3rd quarter Keegan had just hit a three and either the next time down the court or the next time Monk ignored Keeg's to take a difficult contested long two pointer. Easy play there to hit an on fire Keegan for a walk in three that Keegan's probably shooting at an 80% clip. Easy shot for him right now. These things seem to happen quite frequently. Then people say Keegan just needs to be more aggressive. That's fair but myopic. If your guards won't look for you when you're hot what tf is he supposed to do?

And, you know what? I saw Kevin Huerter do the same thing in a recently past game! Keegan had open shots and was denied the ball. I don't want to read a lot into it, but it makes me wonder if something is going on. Keegan getting too many minutes? Who knows. But, sometimes it feels odd.

I've seen it happen way too much. It's like Fox HAS to be the man. His boy Malik supports Fox in every way and honestly seems to tear Keegan down with glee. It just feels like the Kentucky boys feel like they are the show and they have to get theirs. Huerter probably doesn't pass to Keegan cause he's going through his own downturn and needs his? There is something going on inside that locker room. Keegan just needs to keep taking advantage of all his opportunities until MB makes him the sometimes number 1 option.
