Everyone remembers the terrible decision by Armstrong on 4th & 1 late where he threw a fade( an article afterwards said he had a TE open in the flat he could have hit, who knows how accurate that is).

The play before where it was 3rd and short and Iowa had Jaleel Johnson & Nate Meier out with Ekakite & Nelson in and they still stuffed Nebraska and I believe for a bit of a loss. To make that play with your best DT out and best run stopping DE was huge! Big props to Ekakite on that play and I hope he definitely contributes some the rest of the way and in a big way next year his sr. season. I hope Doyle can get 25 lbs of muscle on Nelson for next year.

I've noticed jaleel has not played at the same level the past few games. And he is getting rotated a lot. Any idea if there is a lingering injury? He was such a beast for much of the season- he just doesn’t look the same.

I believe it's because: 1) he's been double-teamed a lot and as a result not able to generate much pressure on the QB; 2) our DL as a whole hasn't been able to generate much pressure either; 3) we need to develop more depth at DL. By giving him some rest in each game and giving the opposition different looks, he may be more effective when he does come in.

Jaleel, bazata and ekakitie all played well yesterday. Very sound in the running game. Cross is a load and we held him to 55 on 19 carries. I'll take that every time out.

I think they are starting to rotate some of the defensive line to keep them fresh throughout the game.

I was certainly pleased with the D line play yesterday. I thought Jaleel looked fast and effective.
