Hy-Vee replacing all Market Grilles w/ Wahlburgers. Lower pay rate for those not losing their job

Keep in mind the Hy Vee Market Grill staffing are paid the same as a checker so it makes sense the new Wahlburger positions are lower waged.

I’ve forgotten the number but Hy Vee has contracts with Wahlburgers for sites. My assumption is the deal was in jeopardy so consequently Hy Vee is using their Market Grill space instead.

I have heard that he is a prick as well. Had heard they were trying to get Pearson to do some consulting.

how many stores added a Market Grille. Someone mentioned the MG cost 2-3 million per location to remodel/build , so they probably pissed away over 100 million on those things

I would agree between the MGs, their stupid clothing "stores", and these failed fulfillment centers, they managed to waste a lot of money on poor concepts.

I used to go there for breakfast too, but stopped when they switched to the Market Grille. As someone else said above...I just want to get some bacon and eggs and eat in peace, not have a server ask me once, "How are you doing?" and then feel an obligation to leave a tip.

FWIW, I think the Wahlburger's idea sounds dumber than the Market Grille concept.

In central Iowa, they've also apparently bought some of the Quick Trip gas stations. I've seen at least two that are being renovated into some sort of HyVee Fresh format. I get that the foray into fuel sales has been great for them, but this seems unnecessary. Guessing people will continue to wonder WTF with HyVee...

They are converting some old Shopko stores in the that format as well.

I don't like Wahlburgers, they are very dry and flavorless (too lean)
