Derp is right. Your arguments for how to measure offensive performance are laughable.
"the offense moved the ball well enough in the first half to burn clock, gain ground in field position, and go to half down by a score"
So now we're applauding the offense for going into halftime scoring zero points.
If that isnt Ferentzian I don't know what is.
Applauding? Hardly. Don’t mistake being realistic for being an apologist or me being “Kirk”, which is just so funny and original.
I’m pointing out that the offense is better. That’s it.
I’m pissed with Kirk’s 4th down decisions in the first half. You only get so many chances in a game against a defense that good, you can’t piss it away by being a coward. We were potentially/likely on the way to scoring points, and Kirk put the halt to it.
To win that game yesterday, we needed to either:
- Shut OSU’s offense down (not likely)
- Score with OSU (not likely)
- Shorten the game, win the TO battle (we were doing this, but the 4th down cowardice and Cade giving the ball away kinda ruined that)
Again, by every metric available this offense is better. Total yardage, efficiency, scoring, yards per play, whatever. As I’ve said, repeatedly, it’s not good. Gonna ignore all this again?
I mean, who do you guys think this team is? Did you think we were instantly going to be a top 20/30 offense (because that’s what it’s gonna take to score with OSU) with the same personnel that you’ve been bitching about for the last few years? I would love to have seen a better performance.
But continue raging on as if it’s going to change things.
We played an elite team. It took our absolute best effort. We didn’t do that.
