The overreaction will be magnificent.

But, it will give us a glimpse as to what we can semi expect in the coming years.

The Marquette game from last year was prob that game. It should give the kids something to shoot for and a dose of confidence.

I'm not sure this team will have a clean game anytime soon. There is a LOT of talent but very little experience. The Marquette game last year is what the Virginia game is going to be like for Iowa this year. An experienced team will school a very talented but inexperienced team. It will be extremely ugly, and if somehow it isn't, we will have a heckuva team this year. Thrashing.

Fran is that you?

I'm sort of looking for our first dirty game......rock & sock 'em. When they push...we push back. That's what I have been watching a lot of on TV in these holiday tournaments.

Direct TV Sport Pack is worth every penny this time of year.

The season ends in March and I'm not sure we will have played a clean game at that point. Much as I love this team we are loaded with unproven youth and learning to value the ball and how to defend at a higher level takes time. Add in the inconsistancy of freshman and to expect everyone to get it and execute it at once is a big wish.

That said I'm thankful today for an athletic fun team to watch that we can look forward to the future with.

it would also help if we could get them all on the court. Kreiner, Pemsyl, and of course Jones have all been nursing injuries. That s not helping as they try to develop chemistry on both sides of the court.

Not sure a bball team ever plays a truley clean game. More of a football term, to many possessions in a bball game.

This team should have a generally steady upward progression for the next few years.

This will be a rebuilding year but in the larger sense Iowa has taken another step foreard IMO. We have athletes that are comprable to most in the top 25 with more on the way, which hasn't been the case very often for Iowa bball.

Fast, up and down the court basketball, as Fran would like to play it-- is not clean. Watched Iowa State barely beat a good Illinois State team and there were a multitude of air balls, charges, turnovers about one a minute. Four out of five missed free throws at the end by IS, when they were tied. Live by the sword, die by the sword. But Iowa Sate's starters got almost no rest. Ran the court for about 30-plus minutes each.

With as fast as this team goes, we will never have a clean game. we can cut down a lot a lot however

My definition of clean: 65% FT shooting, not clean.
80% FT shooting, clean.

20 turnovers, not clean.
10 turnovers, much cleaner.

33% FG shooting, not clean.
55% FG shooting, much cleaner.

Outrebounding the opp by 8-10, nice.

A concerted defensive effort that yields steals, and 40% FG
shooting, much appreciated.

No cursing, spitting, fighting, farting and abundant
sportsmanship....nice.
