I feel bad about the coaching stuff

How good were they at defense and rebounding before NIL/money was an excuse? It's a nice excuse but the reality is that for the majority of the 15 years the defense was laughable. Sending money doesn't magically make someone become a better coach.

One thing I will say--Fran wasted a lot of time chasing 4 star players he never got--everyone would say because he was the first or second to offer that he was this great evaluator but offering 4 stars--is that really evaluating?
Plus he liked ot do all the recruiting himself--too bad he did not get an Eldridge type on staff earlier---if new coach retains him--the recruits might stay--
We should and can do better than making the 68 team dance 47% of the time.....plus look at some of the teams he had and could not do much with them.....one trick pony he is....
