Like Spencer Lee, the great ones find a way. Without any inside info, I can confidently say we see JT back on the mat this year.

My cousin’s, former roommate’s best friend’s grandfather has a hunting buddy whose niece works for the insurance company that the NCAA uses. Allegedly, there was an insurance claim put in today seeking coverage for teemer’s hospice care. I hate to break it to you, but it’s not looking good.

With a source that good, where do I send flowers?

Well now it’s Wednesday which has special importance for me. It’s my 57th birthday and it’s also my last work day since I’m being laid off (I’m trusting that God will provide as He always has).

Now here’s the really cool part I want to share with my closest wrestling friends…my sister (no pics) gave me a really cool present which I’m certain will resonate with the cesspool. I received a personalized video from Dan Gable. I might have had some moisture in my eyes by the end of the video. What a thoughtful gift!

Sounds like you have a great sister!

Sorry about the layoff, that sucks.

I am worried about my dad experiencing the same fate. He was given a completely unattainable PIP despite being one of the only competent sales people in the organization. The company is trying to sell and they are pushing a lot of people out before the shares they were promised mature. It's absolutely despicable.

The job market right now is really difficult and a lot of good people are being hung out to dry. I know you're gonna find a way like I am sure you have done many times before in your life. Keep your head up, enjoy the holidays, and don't let the bastards get you down.

Steal all the company toilet paper and break room coffee creamer and sugar packets on your way out unless that's the reason you're getting laid off in the first place.

Happy boithday, AF. Good luck with all that’s going on in your life at present.

Happy Birthday and God bless my good man. 🫡

Born and raised. Still have majority of my family in the area.
No offense meant, but that’s always struck me as one of the odder towns in Iowa. I’m having cognitive dissonance right now, picturing you as Marilyn of the Munsters. Lol

My father was born and raised in Keokuk. His sisters still live there. I spent most every holidays and summers there growing up.
I lived in Keokuk until middle school years, started wrestling at the YMCA with guys named Meredith, Bonnser (sp?), Miller. My father owned a body shop in Ft. Madison up until a few years ago. My grandmother lived next door to the Porsanski's (that spelling is probably all messed up but I believe he was a wrestling coach or big supporter?).

I started wrestling at the Y as well but didn’t wrestle consistently until Middle School. Pohorsky was the high school wrestling coach before taking over the AD role in 1984 when Coach Nash took over.

Pohorsky...good call, had been bothering me all afternoon. Did he have a son Brent? He was a little older and was always nice and supportive when I was at my grandmother's bothering him.

Brent Pohorsky coaches in the Dallas area. They still have a place in the Keokuk area and he spends a good portion of his summer up there. We coached together for a few decades down here. His dad passed away about a year ago.

Coach Pohorsky eventually was inducted in the Iowa Athletic Directors HoF if I recall correctly. Brent coached in SE Iowa and Fort Dodge before moving to Texas. I was born and raised in FD so that is my connect to the Pohorsky's.
