Actually, CJ might be my favorite too. Tough call between the two. Both are outstanding.

I’ve noticed that I’m much calmer watching Iowa basketball this year too. I yell much less and don’t remember throwing anything at the TV or even trying to to kick the dog when the team plays like crap!
Even when we’ve lost I’ve enjoyed watching this team. Normally watching basketball frustrates me more than any other sport, by far. I just can’t seem to weather the lows that come inevitably during each game. This year has been much different.
Horner ended up being a quality junior and senior guard but didn't impress me as a Freshman.
Fun team.

I’m high on CJ and the idea of Bohannan, CJ, and Weezy on the court with Garza is great. The ability to add Conner, Joe T, Ulis, and Perkins next year makes for a happy outlook.
I do think CJ has been almost as key as Weezy this year and I’ll withhold taking sides until the season is over. We tend to forget that CJ is a freshman and he should get better as the season goes on barring the freshman wall or injury. I don’t sense the effort and killer instinct from Weezy that we saw last year. He’s still a player that is critical, but I think there’s a chance we see him step up his game as the season wears on.
Hopefully Luka doesn’t get swayed to try to jump to the NBA, but the future is bright for the Hawkeyes.

If Iowa is going to compete for a post season bid in the NCAA tournament this year, Iowa needs contributions from Evelyn, Connor, Kriener, and even Pemsl like they got from those 4 in last nights Northwestern game.

I agree that Connor has shown great improvement this year and is much more consistent shooting the 3.
Lots of folks want to compare Luka to #40, (may he rest in peace). I think he's more a 6 inches taller vershion of Brunner. Love the guy....
I think all the adversity, and what he's gone through with Patrick has changed Fran to some degree. Obviously the shorter bench has had an impact as well. The kids play hard for him, no doubt about that....
In truth CJ is not really a freshman, nor should he hit the wall. He's been out of high school and working with the team for the better part of two years. He's also been well rested lately, so I don't think thats an issue if his foot issue is managed.
I love this team as well....I think that when you have the number of offensive weapons that we do, to be a good team we also have to have strong role players. Ryan and Connor have been strong role players almost the entire year-facilitating the offense, playing good defense, rebounding, and providing some scoring.
Pemsl is starting to round into shape and is becoming a strong role player....scoring is still the primary concern.

I'm not concerned about Pemsl's lack of scoring... With this lineup we need Pemsl's defense, post feeds, floor experience and attitude,.. we've got plenty of scorers...
And his insolent one-handed rebounds like he’s Sweet Lou Dunbar or some shit.
