What was the name of the bar next to the Englert theater, late 80's, that was kind of a heavy metal bar. Long flight of stairs up to get in. Had dime draws a lot, etc.

TIA

Woodfields was right next door to the Englert, was "upstairs", and was basically a disco/dance/whatever club. It may have changed names but that's the bar I haunted in the late 70's/early 80's. See article enclosed - I may have been one of the 5 "17 y/o's" in that bar the night this happened...but then probably not...

Woodfields- racist?

That's probably the same place but was a different name late 80's/early 90's.

Yeah, sorry. That's not it either.

It may have only been open for a short time under the name I'm thinking of. Appreciate the help.

Woodfield's had changed it's name by and maybe ownership by the late 80s. In the late 70s/early 80s it was a meat market. I do believe fake I.D.s weren't looked at too closely. The music was rock to rock and roll. For disco (or "dance music") The Field House was the place to go.

Gunnerz was basically right next door to the Brown Bottle and was more of a "live band" type of bar.

You are right, I think maybe where The Den is now? Definitely live music, good times.
