With 38 seconds left and Iowa driving or at least around the 35 yard line and Stanley’s ball got tipped and intercepted.. imagine if the ball bounced in another direction into a WR from Iowa? He would of waltzed into the end zone and it would be a final Iowa 24 Wisconsin 21... that’s how F’ING close this game actually was .. I know should of could of but seriously if the ball would of bounced differently into the arms of a Iowa WR or any RB etc they could of iced the game and Kinnick would of been an absolute MADHOUSE..

Two whole weeks to hate on minisooooooDUH, and we're still bitching about this game? You should be used to these types of games by now! If not, there's plenty of years left on Nice Guy's contract!!

By next week this is not a close game. It goes down as a double digit loss. In week 12 when the talking heads are analyzing Iowa's performance, and Wisky has 2-3 losses, "Iowa lost by double digits to Wisconsin, who has fallen short of expectations themselves!" Only someone like Dave Revsine on BTN would say "let's not forget Iowa led with under a minute left."

Reality

Yup. I was impressed with Iowa. Wisconsin may have the best OL in the country to go along with a RB who is probably a top 3 RB in the country. That's a hell of a challenge to take on.

Iowa did A LOT of good things in this game. I was actually pretty impressed with the offensive line and the push it got on the front 7. Iowa consistently created a bubble on the Wisconsin side of the ball. Wisconsin's linebackers made a lot of plays, though. Hang in there with your team - Iowa is going to have a really good year.

Wisconsin does not have the best OL in the country.

Their scheme has a lot to do with making their OL look good (not saying they aren't great...just not 'best in country' great), as well as Hornibrook.

Ah, we lost. Bottom line.

Oh - going all hard and shiitake! Lol.

3 turnovers were the difference - 1 if you want to pick nits. Bottom - BOTTOM line!! (Double dog dare ya to go more bottom than that!!)

I give all the props in the world to WIsky's O-Line. They were as good as expected..or better..and basically neutralized our D-Line which is pretty damn good.

Of course it was a close game under any reasonable definition.
Bottom line, they lost. At the end of the year that's what matters. There are no asterisks for close losses just as there are none for close wins.

Okay. They're damn good. Don't get stuck on that point.
I only stick with it because people keep saying it..........Their line is deceptively protected, just like their game manager QB with all their safe routes and pass protection schemes.

Someone show me one play where Hornibrook had to move to buy time and just made a great throw that "threw the receiver open" rather than his receiver running the designed route to beat our linebackers in zone coverage and making a great catch.............

I have been a critic of the Wisconsin offensive line for the last two years now. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a real solid group, but the hype is based on reputation and experience. Deiter and Benzschawel are mighty fine players, but find themselves on 1st round mock drafts because they’re four year starters on the Wisconsin offensive line. Edwards is a nice athlete, but struggles with penalties and inconsistent technique. Biadasz is a stud and may pull a James Daniels this offseason. Van Lanen is really fluid at LT, but is still getting acclimated to college football, as you saw when Epenesa blew past him on the “incompletion”.

Wisconsin was able to establish a running game because they had a ton of beef out there. Until Biadasz left with the injury, they frequently had two offensive linemen dressed as TEs on the field. Basically it was 7 OL, 1 TE/FB, 1 QB, 1 RB, and 1 WR

Why don't we just give credit where credit is due and move on. Wisconsin made plays when it mattered and Iowa did not.

If you don't like the results you're getting, do things differently. Special teams gaffes have cost Iowa a couple games in this series now. Instead of whining about what could or should have been, just accept Iowa has no one to blame but themselves and move on.

I'm sorry, but this type of chatter has been going on too long amongst Iowa fans. It is a loser's mentality.

Unless you're an ISU fan.
