Devries is going to get a new gig. Too many openings for him not to get a shot.
There was never a chance of Fran to ND. Too many better candidates out there.
Have a feeling we're going to look back at this in 5 years and be disgusted at how we missed this opportunity.
IMO I am not sure any major program would have any interest in McCaffery. His age and lack of NCAA success. The only exception I can think of would be program really in the crapper.
I was hoping DeVries would ride under the radar for a couple more years and somehow end up at Iowa but now this is really making me mad.
We have a better option sitting there at Drake and we're just gona stick with this old guy who wouldn't get any interest elsewhere.

I can't imagine another top 60 Division 1 school that would hire him. His temper and referee conflicts are widely known and I doubt any AD would touch him.

Intelligent basketball people and casual observers alike realize a perennial league leading offense plus shit defense played by limited athletes equals a 500 in conference program and a lot of March disappointment. Amazing ND didn't want in on that

It's just too bad that GB and the President can't seem to move on from mediocrity. Just frustrating as hell. Recruits like Mulvey, Jelly and the kids at best would only put a stamp on mediocrity. What other BIG would Connor start for much less 30 minutes per game? What other Big has two bigs that get no minutes? Beyond frustrating!! Fran's boys leading his teams are a dad's dreams and our nightmare. A state university that sanctions nepotism at the expense of success is an insult to the fans aka tax payers of Iowa. I have grown to admire Iowa State, Wisconsin, Penn State and other programs that don't settle for mediocrity and always can recruit solid bigs and PGs. Unlike Iowa.

Really? I don't recall Fran being pursued much....if at all...by other P5 programs over the past 13 years.

Lucky for us, most ADs and fan bases aren't smart enough to appreciate the importance of 'upper division' finishes.
