If Iowa Loses Tonight, We're Done

I remember when Iowa football was certain to implode if they lost to Northwestern and started 0-2.

Don't ya remember, those first two losses were a direct result of Doyle leaving and the woke culture taking over. I'm guessing Kirk had enough at that point, and started sneaking Doyle back into the stadium to send signals to the team about the importance of discipline.

5 wins over top 25...

UNC = looked good at the time, but they are mediocre this year. 5th in ACC

Northwestern.... Yea not close to top 25 now

Minnesota... They were playing well when we played them. They are 9th in the B1G at 5-7.

Rutgers twice. They are a solid team and good to beat twice.

Solid wins, but not the big wins we expected from this team this year. Hopefully we can get some big wins down the stretch

Shocker, teams we beat dropped in their ranking after we beat them.

Purdue is top 25 so there's three. For now.

OP is talking about his Nebbers.

Your season was over way before your Wis loss tonight.

Now quit wussing out & reschedule the game against the Hawks. I always enjoy a good Nebber beatdown. Doesn’t matter the sport.

Nope. We can crap on wins in one direction, but it doesn’t work the other way. Purdue sucked when we played them.

I think the only thing that makes sense is the record vs top 25 (or quad 1) at the end of the year. As of now, Purdue and Rutgers were top 25. Of course, Rutgers will probably drop from the rankings (if they Lise again before Monday) at least temporarily so Iowa really only has one win against top 25 come Monday. But that will all keep changing between now and selection Sunday and selection Sunday is when rankings count.

I was mostly joking with my post, but this is part of the problem. Without Iowa beating Rutgers twice, they’d definitely be ranked.

Oh, man, if you're talking about schedules I agree. If Rutgers is matched up against Nebraska their next game they stay ranked because they win; they play Michigan and lose they drop out. It's sort of absurd.
