If Israel doesn't accept cease fire - f em

I remember Americans being anti Russia for most of my life. Now so of the dumbest among us, root for Putin/Russia. It's mind bottling
That is the most disingenuous take I've ever heard, I don't know a single true American cheering for Russia. The left has tried to fabricate this nuanced stance that because the right wants to make sure our money is being spent properly in Ukraine and wants to tie funding for both Israel and Ukraine to protecting our own border, that is synonymous with supporting Russia. Give me a break, the anti-American left never seems to amaze me.

You should read comments on Fox News social media sites.

Lots of Republicans think Putin is better than Biden.

March 27, 1945

An island nation, Japan was vulnerable to a blockade of essential food and strategic materials. On this date in 1945 the U.S. Army Air Forces and the U.S. Navy, hoping to put the final nail in the enemy’s coffin, kicked off Operation Starvation, the aerial mining of Japanese waters. Three nights later 85 more “miners” followed suit. By beginning the nighttime aerial dropping of mines (eventually 12,000 mines) in rivers and coastal waters, Maj. Gen. Curtis LeMay’s Marianas-based B‑29 Superfortresses accessed Japanese waters too shallow or close to land for Allied submarines to enforce a sea blockade. The five-month-long aerial campaign saw the near destruction of Japanese coastal shipping and shipping lanes, halting Japan’s importation of critical raw materials and food and forcing the abandonment of 35 of 47 vital convoy routes. Adding LeMay’s incendiary raids on urban and military-industrial areas to the destructive mix reduced Japan’s overall production in 1945 by two-thirds compared with the year before. Already in 1940 rice—the chief item in the Japanese diet—had been subject to rationing due to bad harvests in the Japanese colony of Korea and the demands of the Japanese military in China (since 1937) and Southeast Asia (since 1941). Fish, the other dietary staple, had all but ceased to be distributed in some areas in 1944. Food supplies were so meager that the average Japanese citizen was living at or near starvation level. Average civilian caloric intake in 1945 was 78 percent of the minimum needed for health and physical performance. By the end of June the civilian population began to show signs of panic. Experts predicted deaths by starvation would exceed seven million were Japan to somehow muster the will and resources to wage war through 1946.

“Why do I care what’s going on in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia? And I’m serious – why do I care. And why shouldn’t I root for Russia – which I am”.

Hamas is winning by sacrificing their own people and going door to door slaughtering Jews.

You can’t make it up.
I said when Israel first invaded to Gaza they were playing directly into Hamas’ hands. By launching a full-scale attack the way they have they have bizarrely made Hamas the bad guys here.

If I were Israel I’d want a pause if only to rethink tactics.

And no - this is no way shape or form expressing any sympathy or offering a defense of Hamas. It is simply that by launching a general, large-scale invasion the way they have, a great deal of destruction and collateral damage has occurred that too many people are willing to accept as deliberate actions.

“So, what I very much worry about is [that Trump and his followers] are helping curate a line of thought, a school of thought [inside the GOP] that is isolationist, that is pro-Putin, pro-Russia, pro-tyranny at the end of the day,” Ryan said of Trump’s coziness with Putin. “And that is extremely dangerous for all democracy but for us as ourselves as a democracy.”

"Overall, the survey found 28% of Americans identified Russia as an ally," - https://www.voanews.com/a/usa_penta...ivating-sympathy-among-us-troops/6180693.html

Thats 4 examples withouth searching hard. I know, you will play the word game and try to move the goal posts. This is much larger than just the Russian war on Ukraine, but historically the Rs have supported backing up dump truck after dump truck of cash to fight Russia. Remember the Cold War? Those are the RINOs the MAGA base complain about, true Rs. The pro-Russia propaganda by Trump and now Tucker is very dangerous. The idiots wearing tshirts that can still be purchased on Amazon show it isn't a 1 off picture, inability to control the never ending information war Russia is waging on social media is proving successful.

Another bad take by Abby.

they're doing a great 2003 USA impression right now - or at least they are well on their way to one

wasn't the lesson from the iraq invasion that you can't bomb and kill your way out of a terrorist/insurgency problem?

i don't understand how people can claim the iraq war was a mistake (which is now the default conservative position - hilarious in and of itself) but also that Israel should level gaza to take out hamas (which is also the conservative position)

No. Iraq is peaceful.

To some degree I don’t disagree with invading Gaza; but I’d have thought they could have attempted to be more surgical/precise than they seemingly have been.

It's interesting how the media seems to have turned against Israel.

I remember the media being much more pro-Israel when I was in college 20 years ago.

Then you weren't watching CNN during the 2006 Israeli - Hezbollah war. In my opinion it was one of the best examples of unbalanced coverage ever. 90% of coverage seemed against israel.

If I were Israel, I'd say "Let's make a deal" to the U.N.

You declare Hamas a terrorist organization and we will do everything we can to work on a cease fire. Anyone who doesn't consider Hamas a terror group can eat shit in regards to their cease fire opinions.

This is crazy...

The Assembly failed to unequivocally reject and condemn the terrorist attacks by Hamas that took place in Israel starting on 7 October.

of course going into gaza as a response is reasonable...the question is where to draw the line...and what your long term goal is

if the goal is to eliminate an imbedded insurgency/terrorist organization among a native population, then "bomb everything to rubble" doesn't seem like a very good plan...again - i thought that was the lesson from iraq

The left wing of the Dem party tells the media how to feel. They comply, and HROT lefties fall in line. Blatantly siding with foreign terrorists is new behavior for the Democratic party, but I guess thats where we're at.

Paul Ryan can bloviate all he wants. It doesn't make what he says true. The left ripped him apart everyday for years and now here you are using his words to advance your own ridiculous assertion.

Whoever runs the PR campaign for Hamas deserves some sort of prize. They somehow managed to paint themselves as the victims.
Some view hostages as fair game in warfare. Plus, they’re old news now. We’ve got fresh deaths everyday to parade on TV.

Yes, all media in the entire world is liberal and biased against Israel. Sigh.

You get this isn’t just an American thing right? Most of the world has effectively sided with Hamas - they don’t all watch CNN.

A combination of liberal media outlets across the world and antisemitism amongst the world population. This isn't anything new.

Israel has every right to go get their hostages and remove the Palestinian government. Until those two things are accomplished Israel has the right to continue their takeover.
Agree they have every right but should they at all costs. Unless they can subjugate the Palestinians like we did Native Americans it won’t work.

Not hard when you have liberal media.

Almost every Jew I'm associated with is Liberal. But it has become a struggle for Jews as of late because the far left Liberals tend to be for any group (even terrorists) that they feel are "victims". For some reasons Blacks hate the Jews which makes it hard to be on the same side. The far right are a bunch of white supremacists. The Jews don't fit into that group as well. They're doing too good financially for the far left to include them as "victims" and they're not "white christian" enough for the far right.
