If you are an NBA GM, would you draft Kris Murray?

Soft, lacks killer instinct, but in the league today there is definitely a role for him.
I don’t see it either but I don’t watch the NBA. I find it boring and uninteresting.

6th man type. I don’t think he will be a starter. I’m hoping he comes back next year and shows out.

I don't think Kris is NBA-ready at all. He doesn't seem strong and aggressive. He passed off many times because he knew he was probably going to get blocked. He's a great kid but he needs another year of aggressive learning and play. If he tries to go pro this year, he'll end up joining Cordell Pemsl over in Spain (if he's still there) and learning a second language.
He’s g league. Unless he can shoot better and develop a right hand.
Depends on the pick but yes. A 6'8" 1st team Big Ten player that averaged 20 and 8 and has good athleticism and has shown he has the ability to shoot threes.
You draft based on upside and he has that. I'm not drafting him top 10 but if I'm bottom half of first round, I draft him.

Look, I thought Keagan was soft, not as timid as Kris, but not a will his team to victory kind of guy. Turns out, teammates and coaching make a difference.
Bingo. The NBA is a very different league and not having to be the focal point of the offense has a tendency to help out as well. If Kris lands with the right team, I could see him having a lot of success.
I think you’re probably right, but he will also be a 1st round draft pick. Hard to turn that down.

Maybe the way we view players is a bit off after Garza, Weezy, and the a lottery pick in Keegan.

I think he is made for a role camping out on the 3 point line, he should be able to hit 38%+ as well as playing decent defense at the 3/4. He will be more of a role player but will get drafted in 1st round.
If you can’t recognize good defense then Im not sure how to educate you. He’s not as good as his brother at blocking shots, but he’s long, rarely gets beat and disrupts almost every shot taken on him. And he can guard every position, which the NBA values.
Turns out playing a completely different role in the pros vs college is what really makes a difference.
You don’t draft role players to will a team to victory, you draft them to space the floor for your scorers, hit 3s and defend multiple positions on defense.

Kris nba stock will not improve one bit by coming back to college.
Kris has no NBA stock. They see what we see.
The way Iowa fans view players is off because they have no clue how the nba game works.
They see Kris struggling to drive into a packed lane in college and think that has anything to with the nba.
With almost no familiarity with pro basketball they think they know more than the team scouts.

NBA guys will sit on his left hand. I think he’d really benefit by coming back for another year and improve his right hand and be the leader of this team. He’s definitely not ready for the NBA. Not sure how we get him the ball without Connor, though.

Kris is 2nd round material right now. He hasn’t shown enough consistency shooting the basketball or getting his own shot or defending for an NBA GM to get super-excited about drafting him. At the same time its probably a good decision to leave and start developing in an NBA environment.
Ultimately he did enough this year where being a late first/early second is probably a lock. I’m glad for him but I wish that staying and developing was more of an option.

Unless someone takes Kris in the lottery I doubt he gets a GM fired for drafting him.
