Illegal Immigrant Offending Rate Lower Than U.S.-Born Citizen Rate

I would like to see anyone on this board who thinks our laws are so unfair try and sneak into OR even immigrate to one of these counties.

Here’s a list of 15 countries that have stricter immigration laws than the United States:
  1. Japan
  2. Saudi Arabia
  3. Australia
  4. Switzerland
  5. United Arab Emirates
  6. Singapore
  7. New Zealand
  8. Germany (especially for non-EU citizens)
  9. Norway
  10. South Korea
  11. Canada (though it has a points system, there are restrictions for certain categories)
  12. Denmark
  13. Finland
  14. Austria
  15. Belgium
These countries have stringent requirements, quotas, or processes that make immigration more challenging compared to the U.S.
i think there is broad agreement that we need to do better in controlling illegal immigration

I would like to see anyone on this board who thinks our immigration laws are so unfair try and sneak into OR even immigrate to one of these counties. Now, I agree, it should not take upwards of 10 years to become a citizen...but that is TOTALLY beside the point when it comes to someone who is here illegally.

My complaint with our system isn’t that I think it’s unfair…it’s that we need to devote more resources to it, (and update our immigration laws) so that it works far better than it does now.

I don't get why you dolts keep referring to this as an "immigration issue." 30,000,000 unwanted criminals ILLEAGALLY entering a sovereign nation is not an "immigration issue" anymore than it was when Germany invaded Poland!

lol. It's illegal immigration -- overwhelmingly they want to come to the country to work and form a better life. That's it.

Germany was a country sending troops into another country in order to possess land.

Completely different things.

Honestly, if that were truly the case, you would not have some people against strengthening the border AND sending criminals back.
How many liberals have noticed saying we shouldn't curb illegal immigration on this board?

Did you notice how the Biden administration cut way back on the flow illegals into the country?

The problem is that a minority of progressive liberals pressured the Biden admin into a stupid position. Most liberals don't want unfettered immigration.

Come on, you are joking.......right?

Biden didn't get pressured into anything when (within the first 12 hours of his administration) he stopped ALL of the immigration policies that were put in place during the previous administration. He and ALL of the Dems strongly argued for 4 straight years that the border was secure........4 straight years. How much video proof do you need to see of this?

Then, during the last half of an election year...BOOM.....all of the sudden it becomes an issue because their polling shows the American people are fed up with it......and then and only then does he use executive orders to do exactly what he and the Dems had undone 4 years earlier. Facts matter in these discussions.

Also, we have heard the Dems claim for 4 years that Conservatives are against LEGAL immigration. Remember, the same laws that we have had in place for years, upon years are the same laws which have been shown to be less stringent then most other counties.

Now, back to you......show me where ANY Conservative on this board has said they are against LEGAL immigration.

Then the dems should have no issue with deporting the ones who do commit additional crimes since it's such a low rate right? Right?
Right. Did your right wing propagandists tell you otherwise?:

So illegal aliens are so virtuous that not only is their crime rate less than that of U.S. citizens, but it's also less than documented immigrants?

The best and the brighest immigrants who follow the laws and obtain legal status in the U.S. have a higher crime rate than illegal aliens?
Northern failing hard at middle school level statistical analysis. 🤣

EDIT: See, even @Here_4_a_Day and @Hawkman34 are laughing at you, Northern. And they’re idiots!

I did notice that,.. Pretty impressive, after being told for three years that nothing could be done,.. Don't you think?
Maybe that’s at least partly because this isn’t an easy fix, and they were seeking a longterm, legislative solution-you know, like that bill that was killed? Whether or not you think it was a good bill or not, it was something that was worked on for months with the leading GOP senator on the issue.

The bill you refer to was not a good bill,.. Biggest problem with it was that it allowed far too much presidential discretion with enforcement,.. It would have simply given Biden a license to continue sitting on his ass.

So kill the bill and depend on 100% presidential discretion? How does that make sense?

Again, I’m not going to argue whether or not it was a good bill…moot point now if nothing else. But it was negotiated in good faith on a bipartisan basis, which takes months or years to accomplish.

I mentioned it only to rebut your argument that Biden did nothing for 3 years.

Three members of congress languished over that bill,.. Biden did nothing, until he absolutely had to.

Themes from this discussion - our local MAGA dum dums are:
- afraid of experiencing other cultures
- don't care about or think we can do anything about the 2/3s of crime committed by legal residents.

Carry on...
That's a lot of projection. If that's what you came away with you should become a fiction writer. You would be excellent.

You don’t believe that a large segment of the illegal immigration bucket is filled with people who initially entered legally but have become illegal due to their visas or whatever the legal option was to begin with expiring?

That’s not remotely “legal illegal aliens”
Cite some actual numbers. How many people are here illegally because of expired visas compared to entering illegally. You've made the claim multiple times. Please cite numbers.

BTW, does it really matter if they entered legally or not? If they overstay a visa, they intended to be here illegally.

Congress killed the bill,.. Once the border is secure, I hope they will pursue significant immigration reform.
No. Trump killed the bill. Congress was set to pass it then Trump called up a few key votes and ordered them to stand down.

Again, you could have had actual border control cemented into place. But now you're at the mercy of whomever is in the oval office.

Who knows? Maybe this is what you want?

Again, if they have started the process to have a visa renewed, after entering legally, but the visa expired while that renewal is in progress, that means they intended to be here illegally? I’m confused.

Also, from october
