Illinois takes down Cats

All three B1G game were upsets tonight. For now the Hawks are tied in 5th place, 1 game behind NW for 4th place. It's unlikely, but possible, to get to 4th place and get a double bye in the BTT. How sweet would that be?

OTOH the Hawks are only one game from 9th place too. It's still a giant cluster with a long way to go.

I can't stand either team, I wish they both could have came away with L's somehow

I will get a lot of fans, both on the Illini and Hawkeyes side, mad at me for this, but people clinging to an intense Iowa/Illinois rivalry or hatred are living in the past. We have had lopsided series in both football (in favor of Iowa) and basketball (in favor of Illinois) the last 20 years, and we both have other rivals we care more about.

For this fan, having grown up near the border...we can never whoop up enough on Illinois. Oddly, many and seemingly most of the Western Half of Illinois right up to places of ill consideration like Peoria, appear to think the same based on the amount of Iowa flags and other such favorably Hawkeye items appearing in public such as license plate frames.

Speaking of license plates, I find it funny that there is Chicago, and Joliet, and I wonder if inside the prison they are glad to be protected from what is outside the prison by a wall?

I don't know, I feel the urge to garbage talk but let me save the best for the barely skewer-able, potential little furry golf head covers (or other such protections), and say it's time to give those varmints what they've got coming.

This is completely accurate. I am not an Illini fan at all, but there hasn't been a rivalry in the Iowa/Illinois series since Deon Thomas drove away in his Chevy Blazer.

The B1G is weak this year. Heck a so-so young Iowa team could end up in the top four of the conference.
