Herkmeister is a Dinosaur
As a young child he saw the coal truck come to his
house to deliver a load of coal down the chute to
the coal bin.. Then Herk would pick up a shovel
and fill the furnace with coal on a cold winter day.
Some neighbors thought that Herk looked just like
the driver of the coal truck. So Herk just told them
that all dinosaurs look alike.

Lute, in fact I do remember the coal truck coming to our house and sending coal down the chute.
Circa 1958 or 1959.
I wonder what Hank Jr. did when he wasn't playing music. Couldn't find a pic when she was younger. Worth the search.
I got a buddy in Kentucky who knows him pretty well. They were neighbors. He says Hank is a prick.
But his music is awesome.
Saw Hank Jr many years ago in Indy, He was drunk and sucked, Travis Tritt was very good that night though.

each week to an aluminum case outside their kitchen
door. Herk peeked out his bedroom window at dawn
to see this weekly event.
While in second grade, the milkman picked up by Herk
one Friday night in June to take him to a Father-Son
banquet. Herk later learned that some milkmen make
their real deliveries when the wife's husband is not home.
