Independant proof: Hawkeye State!

I hope the Iowa part is accurate, but I'm not really buying that swath of Oregon fans in upstate NY, the Texas Tech domination of Texas, Stanford's ownership of wyoming, etc. etc. Must be small sample sizes.

not buying it... folks live up that way and most people i know hate whisky... iowa strong... now the western part of the state being buggeaters i cant speak for them...

Oregon pretty impressive. I actually am buying it as it is probably a smaller sample but I think in their case it is the output of being great marketers along with a fast pace tempo tha many like to see.

"The map was compiled with 3,462 responses to a demographic survey that delivered responses in 787 unique counties."

So, an average of ~4.4 votes per county. That is a super small sample size. I'm sure a large number of the "weird" winners were a single vote.

Yup. You have to trust any map that shows Texas Tech as by far the most popular team in Texas.
I wouldn't call them by that map the most popular team in Texas. They covered west Texas well, but nobody lives in west Texas.

There are more than 3,000 counties in the US. That means they didn't get a single vote in more than 2200 of the 3k+. Not exactly high science here.

Yeah, I noticed that. And considering there are over 3,100 counties in the US...

I grew up in NE Iowa and never once saw anything wisconsin. With Hesse and Jewell from NE Iowa I just don't see it being badger land

Thanks for posting this. Sampling issues aside, it is very interesting. I am especially entertained be the Hawkeye color right beside lincoln, ne.
