*********Indiana Fever @ NY Liberty*********

The Fever frontcourt is dreadful on offense and defense. Just dreadful. With the exception of Boston who is decent but not athletic.
No, not with the exception of Boston. She's terrible. ROY? LOL

She can't do a damn thing. She was effective in college because she was bigger than most opponents. That advantage is gone. So far, in three games, she's shown me exactly zero athletic ability or basketball skill.

I’m a little surprised she was ROY?

As you know, half of those alleged TOs are because her teammates can't catch the damn ball. The TOs should be on the intended receiver, not the passer. Hell, even the TV announcers admitted it once after CC threw a beautiful bounce pass for what should have been an easy laup in transition, but the player fumbled the ball.

Surprised? I'm shocked. But then I guess not many rookies make the league, and even fewer play many minutes, so I guess she was the best of a really bad--and small--lot. That's the only possible explanation, because she's just awful at basketball. The Fever made a horrible choice taking her #1 last year. I guess Indiana is a horribly run organization. CC should have done what some #1 draft picks in the NFL, MLB, and NBA have done: told the Fever not to draft her because she would refuse to sign. Playing for the Fever is like playing for the Miami Marlins.

This is bullshit. It's assault, plain and simple. Try that out on the sidewalk or in the parking lot some day against some random person and see what happens. That gal is lucky CC has more composure than I do. This was payback for CC faking her out of her Skims a few seconds earlier, and the gutless, incompetent refs stood there and did nothing. The WNBA deserves to stay under the rock where it was before CC arrived. What a bunch of thugs. IMHO, of course.

Who made this WNBA schedule, you would think you would like to get your #1 draft pick her legs under her momentum before facing off against top teams. Just seems like a terrible marketing decision.

Your league is struggling to get eyeballs, obviously struggles with parity. You have new people turning in to see how lopsided it is.
The WNBA hasn't been an anonymous league for over 20 years for nothing. It has been well-earned.

I have called it the WWENBA.

Boston was the first player in WNBA history to ever lead the league in field goal percentage (57.8%) as a rookie, and she was a starter for the 2023 WNBA All-Star Game, becoming just the sixth rookie in league history to start the game.

I liked Boston as a commentator last winter. Maybe she simply didn’t stay in playing shape.

I also liked her as a commentator and as a human being. And she had to have been voted rookie of the year for something, but as of right now her shooting is awful.

And she’s never been a dominant rebounder despite her 65- frame

What they really need is a 6-2 gazelle that shoot.
Don't know about the shot.

Yeah I think right now anyway she would be better served not going to Paris.

Easier to say that considering it's the Olympics, but it's probably the best decision for her as far as the 2024 season goes.
Her time will come. The passing of the torch is real.
Caitlin at the point, Paige at the 2, JuJu at the 3 and fill in the rest. She will win her share of gold medals.

Re-watched a 9 min highlight of game on YouTube at 2x speed.

Boston had 4 of her shots blocked and another 2 she missed at the rim and rebounded by NY.

What the hell happened to her this season?

Smith had at least 4 shots blocked as well, if my memory serves correctly. The box score says the Liberty had 6 blocks. Not sure how they were allocated, but that is the difference in the score.

btw, thirty plus year sales veteran with insurance sale experience, never been a fan of programs like salesforce at all. but then I am a dinosaur . I gotta admit if they paid me to sponsor me and put their name on my jersey- I might learn to like them!!!
