I guess I have to ask just how much evidence this year's team needs to inspire complete confidence against teams that have proven this year they are pretty much exactly what their records and stats indicates.
Indiana's defense to me is like watching that Oregon/AZ State game last night. In that game, ASU gained 700+ yards...and LOST.
Just how bad does a defense have to be to allow 700+ yards?
There's more than just a whiz-bang offense to winning football games, folks.
Until I see a team light Iowa up for 500 and 40+ this year, I have to trust that Iowa's offense is going to put up a lot of points against proven bad defenses in Maryland and Indiana - where their "potent offenses" - no matter how good they might be - just plain aren't going to score enough against Iowa's defense - a defense we know is fairly proven to be at the very least good/sound.
Every game makes me nervous...it's just natural. But to look ahead with any degree of reasonableness...one has to assume Iowa in both cases is the better, more well rounded team. No matter where they play the game.
