I compared the Hawkeyes dual schedule and the 8 November TOM rankings to see what the season looks like for each weight. Ranking (and wrestlers in some cases) will change, but here's the 2016-17 season as it looks right now:
125 - #9 Lambert (Nebraska), #12 Piccininni (Okie State), Suriano
133 - #3 Tomasello (tOSU), #4 Montoya (Nebraska), #5 Hall (ISU), #7 Gross (SDSU), #9 Brock (Okie State), #10 Cortez (Penn State), #16 Micic (Michigan)
141 - #1 Heil (Okie State), #14 Hayes (tOSU), #15 Gulibon (Penn State), #16 Gasca (MSU)
149 - #1 Retherford (Penn State), #4 Collica (Okie State), #5 Pantaleo (Michigan), #8 Jordan (tOSU)
157 - #1 Nolf (Penn State), #3 Smith (Okie State), #4 Murphy (Michigan), #5 Berger (Nebraska), #16 Short (Minnesota)
165 - #5 Rogers (Okie State), #7 Massa (Michigan)
174 - #3 Jordan (tOSU), #5 Crutchmer (Okie State), #13 Kocer (SDSU), #14 Weatherspoon (ISU)
184 - #2 Dudley (Nebraska), #3 Nickal (Penn State), #4 Boyd (Okie State), #7 Martin (tOSU), #8 Abounader (Michigan), #10 Downey (ISU)
197 - #2 Pfarr (Minnesota), #5 Weigel (Okie State), #7 Rotert (SDSU), #8 Studebaker (Nebraska) #11 Moore (tOSU)
Hwt - #1 Snyder (tOSU), #5 Kroells (Minnesota ), #13 Jensen (Nebraska)
Looks like 125 and 141 are the two easiest dual weights this season, followed by 165, 174, and Hwt. The other 5 weights will be strong tests. The most intriguing will be 157 since Kemerer is a freshman who will face 1, 3, 4, and 5.
