Need honest input on the future after the Hawks win tomorrow!!!!!

Thinking of buying Cotton Bowl tickets today on Stubhub before they explode in price WHEN the Hawks win.

1. Do the Hawks move ahead of Oklahoma into the 3 spot?

2. If Clemson & Bama lose are we ranked #1 thus pushing us to the Orange? (Can't believe I am typing that scenario)

3. If Iowa does not win or are playing in the Orange bowl do you think you could resell cotton bowl tickets for close to same amount of money?

Thanks for input.....

You should probably wait until later in the week to see which way the line moves.

But more seriously - I can't speak to secondary market efficiency, but from what I have gathered from the weekly rankings, Iowa is locked in as either the #3 or #4 team assuming 'Bama wins. Iowa will not jump Oklahoma, even with a Top 5 win against MSU (which won't be Top 5 after the win most likely). They mentioned that they more or less ignored Oklahoma clinching the B12 to wait until this week to ackowledge champions. So I think our ceilng is #2 if Clemson and Bama lose, more likely we would be 3-4.

Ask the folks that bought Rose Bowl tickets in 2002 after the Minny game how that turned out. In this situation, there are literally 4, maybe more bowl games the Hawks could end up in. Unless you are either willing/able to eat those tickets or attend a bowl game you don't care about, I would wait. I think you are risking more than you are saving by buying now rather than waiting until you know where the Hawks are headed.

In my opinion we jump to 3 if we win over MSU. We are undefeated, having beaten the #5 team. OK did not have to play a championship game so that moves them down to 4. Also, this allows a possible match up of unbeaten if Clemson and Iowa in the national championship game after each of them plays 1 loss teams in Alabama and OK and wins.
Just a thought.

I agree with this. If we have beaten a top team then OK's loss to Texas moves them below us.

The Orange Bowl isn't tied to 1 vs 4. Its projected that way now because Clemson is #1. The #1 team will go to the closer bowl, so if Iowa is #1, they will go to Dallas.

Way too many variables but you could probably sell them on Stub Hub if we go to the Orange Bowl instead!

I would think one consideration, certainly not the only consideration, but a strong consideration for the committee, would be to keep alive the possibility of undefeated teams playing for the national championship. Therefore, I would think if both Clemson and Iowa win tomorrow, that there is a good chance that Clemson will be #1, and Iowa will be #3 (or #2).
