Got some info tonight from someone who knows past and current players. A very reliable source in my opinion.
McCollum is a done deal to Iowa.
Good chance Fran might be headed to Penn, taking Connor as an Asst. if he takes job. Obviously, young brother heads along too.
Mulvey already has a school picked out, too.

Good to hear on McCollum.

I wondered about Connor possibly following Fran as an assistant. Also wondered if he would want to stay in Indiana close to Caitlin. But I suppose they are both pretty busy in-season.

Any chance Jack ends up at Penn?

If Fran goes there, I think Jack is a lock. That is an extremely close family.

Didn’t someone else on this site a few days ago claim DeVries was a done deal?

If McCollum can get some decent NIL money to work with, Iowa might have a winner. I don’t know. A mid-major hire is bound to work out at some point for Iowa. Hopefully.

Even if not accurate. I still appreciate the information to keep the suspense going. Much appreciated...even if I'm only taking it with a grain of salt. Hope it's true though. I also wish the best for Fran too. Seems like it'd be a good last job for him. I bet he'd do well there.

If this is true, then Iowa basketball has finally struck gold. Somebody like me that would never ever donate to NIL would seriously consider giving some money to swarm every month because I know it would go to good use. With Fran, it didn’t matter who we had, we were never making a sweet 16 because that dip shit refused to put a priority on defense, rebounding, and guard play, which is all necessary in March.

100%! Watched it every year, good guard play and D will move the needle in March. He had Garza, Murray twins, Weezy, etc and we can't get to Sweet 16? Geez, you wonder why...

Don’t know who you are; for all we know you could be behind the Iowa Burners Network, which is total junk.

At this point I’m sincerely questioning any of this is true. My bet is Iowa’s chances of getting BM took a big hit tonight. Lot of other schools with better NIL likely perked up.

I’d be very surprised if he wound up at Iowa.
But I’d be thrilled and actually would contribute.

I mean, none of this is earth shattering. It’s been leaked before. But I hope it’s true and I wish Fran good luck at Penn. I think he’ll do well there.

Disagree, I think BM is a man of integrity and loyal to Iowa/roots. Unlike DDV he will not try to buy players or championships. JMO

Not sure what you mean by loyal to Iowa/roots. Until taking the Drake job he lived out of state since 2001. And what connections does he personally have to the University of Iowa?

Roots. That's what we have going for us. Not a roster. Not an NIL bank. Roots. Hoping that's enough.

How that Drake roster beat Mizzou is a testament to a guy that can flat out coach. Stirtz is the only Drake starter who would see time on the Mizzou roster if they were combined.

I compared his style to Kirk a few days ago. Watching his defense play, I really think the fans would come back to see a group of guys that play their hearts out every night.

DDV wanted to come to Iowa. We couldn't meet his wishes as far as giving him the bank to recruit a championship level team. I don't blame him. If you have goals to win a National Title, you know what you want and need and won't settle for less.

Agreed. BM staying at Drake might be my biggest concern as well.

He’s said in the past that his family’s preference has influenced his decisions on jobs. If they are happy and content in Des Moines, they might just stay there. (Or wait for a better opportunity,)

Or the flip side is you believe in yourself and your coaching abilities and trust that you can coach guys up to be successful and then the resources will come.

I only think that as it relates to WVU. I think he’d take a $3M raise to move 2 hours east. 😎
