I’m talking early 2000 through Project Larabee. By 2014 they were so far behind on standalone GPU architecture that the writing was on the wall.Intel is way behind and has seen shallow adoption of its ONEApi framework. It's antiquated technology. It's just reentering the space.

I generally use Intel for CPUs though.
