Iowa’s 6 week abortion ban has an exemption for rape survivors. But, there is a catch.

So the doctor that they interviewed says it's a pain because she has to decide if it was a rape. The doctor gets to make the judgement call.

Also, how many rape victims wait 6 weeks or more to find out if they are pregnant. Not that it matters. They don't have to do it before 6 weeks. It's a reasonable compromise.

I take it you didn’t read the article?

Spoken like a man who has never experienced trauma.

We, as men, have zero idea what it would do to someone physically, mentally, or emotionally.
And how long it might take to react and reach out for help.

Goddamn, this shows ignorance on your part.
I was explaining to Doobi what he said.

You’re a damn fool. Freaking fake pro lifers are the worst. WTF is wrong with you? Cares more about cells than a rape victim. 🤬

What f they were drugged or rapped by someone that they had reasonable fear would kill them if reported the rape. For example a remember a 15 year old who kept the baby and was 5 months pregnant. Who was murdered fleeing from the person who she reported raped her. Guess the bitch should have kept quiet 🤐

Let’s not say that Iowas new abortion law is anything like a compromise. It’s absolute extremist law. You can support it. Whatever, that’s your choice. But it’s extremist and involves zero compromise.

Sure. Sure. When the dems point at someone against abortion they always scream "what about rape and incest!!!". But when that compromise is made its never enough. They don't give a flying **** about rape or incest.

I'll take it you don't have any daughters. The doctor is at a legal risk regarding their decision. All it takes is one government official to say they made the wrong one.

There's no compromise in this law. It's one of the most restrictive in the nation. Claiming this law is the result of compromise is disingenuous.

The folks you vote for want a full-on ban.

No exceptions, even for medical emergencies/miscarriages. Quit pretending that's not the case.

Lindsey Graham went on national television supporting a national 15 week abortion ban. He called it an effective compromise. No. A compromise would be a 15 week ban with another ban on abortion restrictions prior to 15 weeks. Republicans have no interest in compromise on abortion. They have to hold the line mandated by the Christian jihadists who make up their base.

Shoot, Roe was a compromise. It allowed states to restrict abortion based on viability but recognized that women had a fundamental right to make choices about their body. That right was not unlimited but it was real.

It's a law, if you don't agree with it, you can change it,.. If your current legislators disagree, you can change them,.. It's your state, get involved.
70 percent of Iowans do not support this law, and the GQP is doing everything they can to keep Iowans from voting on it. Losses in states like Kansas, Ohio, and what looks like a big loss coming up in ruby red SD is driving fear among Republican leaders. Abortion is a losing issue when the citizens of states get to vote on it.

Nothing is better than country ass bumpkin white dudes nodding their head in agreement regarding abortion laws.

JESUS H ****ING CHRIST! I am ****ing involved yet unfortunately there is too many morons like you silencing my voice in this state. It is absolutely ****ing wild we are even having this conversation. A ****ing corpse has more bodily autonomy than a living breathing woman. No one would bat an eye if someone like rifler did not donate his organs and then little Jimmy (an already living breathing person) died because he couldn't have that organ. Yet the Riflers of the world FREAK the **** out about a bunch of cells that aren't even a person yet. It is absolutely mind boggling.

Old doob's gets all his idears from the guns, gods, and boyz festival each year. That's why he comes across as such a braniac on HORT all the time.

It's not a "compromise"; it's a ban.
Really? I could have sworn I read there were exceptions for rape and incest and the health of the mother. You know, all the things you all white knight for and then don't give a shit about when you actually get what you want.

6 weeks is not a real compromise. I would encourage DooBi and anyone else on the "pro life" side who is attempting to engage in earnest discussion to look into the research on "pregnancy recognition." A large percentage of pregnancies aren't recognized until sometime after the 6 week mark. Unplanned pregnancies are even more likely to go unrecognized to a later gestational age. 6 weeks is a de facto ban for a lot of women; even just a couple more weeks would be a much better compromise.
