Iowa 98 Clowns 84.....

Who gives a shit right now? we get a 9 seed and they get a conference tourney title and hardware to show off to recruits. Oh and they did it by beating Kansas in the final. That would be like Iowa beating MSU in the final and you damn well that would be huge for Iowa basketball.
Meh. Iowa State has won 4 of the last 6 Big 12 tourney titles.

We beat them the last two years they won their conference tournament.

#J/K its actually just Iowa > Iowa State

The ISU game isn't a terribly big game to me anymore. It helps not living in Iowa anymore too.

If Iowa even made the champ game, that would mean they were playing well at the end of the year at least

"Clowns" always kills me. Not as much as Farmer Tech or Moo U, but it is comical.

While Hawk fans continue to gloat over a win in December, I will relish another Big 12 tournament championship. What makes this one so special is because no one saw it coming. We'll see how the NCAA goes - seeding and matchups are the key - but winning a 5th tourney title is awesome. Even though this wasn't the best KU team, it is still KU. I doubt any Hawk fan would qualify a victory over Sparty if they were "down". Hell no! Beating KU is always awesome.

Kudos to Prohm and the players. Remember they were dead last in the league last year.

I hope they continue to play well next week. Time will tell. I always hope for the best and prepare for the worst. They could win the whole thing, or lose in the first round. Nothing surprises me anymore.

98-84? Ancient history.

They’re peaking at the right time while we are completely collapsing. I’d trade a loss against them for a conference championship and good momentum going into the tournament

Here's another set of numbers for you:

66-114.

The combined records of Iowa's 10 conference wins. A solid 36%

Take out Michigan and that number is 51-109. A solid 32%

Here’s the deal. This is the Hawkeye state. Most people in Iowa root for the Hawkeyes...that will never change.

Iowa could lose every game in every sport and ISU win championships in every sport, and Iowa is still > ISU. They are little brother....always have been, always will be.

Keep telling yourself that. Hopefully, Barta does too.

I just wish Fran could get the Hawks to Saturday of the conference championship. How embarrassing is that in nine years of being the head coach, he hasn’t been able to do that and what’s worse, the AD gave him that huge raise and contract extension in the dead of night w/ no media announcement. Tells you everything you need to know about Iowa athletics. #firebarta.

It really depends on what side of the state you are talking about.

The Des Moines area has changed a lot over the past 20 years. Iowa was the team in the metro, but it's pretty even and/or with ISU the edge currently.
