this is on the players. they need to score 100 here. that is how you win in CBB. Don't blame Fran at all.

WE hung tight with ISU and MIchigan, but lost. . Put that on the NCAA tourney resume.
Sure it would be nice to make NCAA tourney, but these guys would be DOA. Most important think is to retain Dix for next year, but it really wouldn't be that bad to bring in a TJ Otzelberger type and just clean house if the new coach has eye for talent/system that
is based on defense.

I can't even muster the slightest bit of anything for Fran and his squad anymore.
Almost want them to just keep on losing so Beth has absolutely no choice but to send him packing.
I think it is his body language that is concerning as a coach. He seems to be the opposite of his past years.
I will say that when brock gets caught down low no one is cutting just watching him struggle

Peak Fran was winning the BTT and then going into the NCAA Tournament as arguably the hottest team in the country at the time .......... and then laying the world's biggest egg vs RICHMOND.
That was the point that I was done with Fran.
Hot team going into the tournament, but nothing to show for it. Best chance of him EVER making the Sweet 16 and couldn't even win the first game.
Offensive didn't win, so we had no chance of winning with defense... Rinse and repeat

Yeah, back then we had hope. We'd met Oregon in NIT the year before, with their new head coach Altman. We beat Virginia with their
new head coach Bennet. And we lost to a very talented Baylor team that was coached by and up and coming Scott Drew Fast forward, Altman took Oregon to Fina4. Bennett and Drew won Nationa Titles. Meanwhile we have to watch ISU fans loving their situation. I'd trade 15 years of 0.500 middle of the pack ball for what ISU has right now.

I guess Jack can save the Butler program that just snapped a 9 game losing streak. I admit, it will not be surprising if he's a lot better than CMAC and PMAC were, but those two were not stars.

Remember the debate of who was rebuilding their program the right way? Fran with HS recruits or Hoiberg with transfers?
Seems like 30 years ago.
Years later, we are still plodding along with Fran. ISU has had a few coaches, that have all done more than Fran.
Gotta love those Iowa 20 year contracts
One less mccaffery on the team is a good thing. God willing we have 0 associated with the program next fall.

lol. We are getting what we deserve at this point. The Iowa nice strategy isn’t going so well right now. That being said, who wouldn’t want to coach here? 10, 15 or 20 years of mediocre results and you get paid. Damn near impossible to get fired.
Yeah Fran did it the right way. Family guy to a fault. Back then there was talk about guaranteed scholarships. Fran never cut or Creaned anyone. Hoiberg embraced the portal and had not problem cutting bait on bums...he was more successful than Fran. TJ took it all to a new level...
Now college B-ball is a business.
funny how Beth can turn from hero to heel in one year. she is no different than any other Iowa AD until proven otherwise. maybe she will wait for Fran to get cancer or finish out a lame duck contract to make it official.

I turned it when Sandfort went down. Looked like his jewels took a shot. Team was lackluster from the beginning.
Jack will play soft with little defense or rebounding and float around the perimeter just like PMac, but will be a better shooter. Will play more than he should due to his brother being on the coaching staff. His mother be an ass from the stands. Butler fans will be disappointed. Sound familiar?

That was such a a fun tournament. They beat some big brands to get to the championship game. Then the Baylor game was a sign of things to come. We're t they jumped on immediately? I don't remember them having a chance.
