Yeah it seemed like Dahm was a decent recruiter but nobody could get any extra base hits when he was the coach. That changed when Heller got here. Rough start to the year this year, but there's a lot of solid guys in the lineup, they could get it turned around.

Guarantee it’s true for most years. Even White, Sweet, and Napoleon was like 9,8, and 5 for home runs.

I decided to look it up. Dahm coached 10 years at Iowa and Adams had more home runs in a season than 8 of Dahm's teams. They had 10 or less homers in four of those years including 2 in 2013, his final season. Heller's teams have 212 home runs compared to Dahm's 192. And Heller's only had 6 full seasons under his belt.

I will say I was watching the Nebby game on BTN+, and Sosa hit one down the third base line that would’ve cleared the bases and scored two. It would’ve been 2-1. It was a close close call, in fact a delayed call on the foul ball. It’s called the other way and it completely changes the optics of the game.

(1) has the weird outfield fence ever caused any issues over the years since US Bank opened?

(2) Is the mound and the brown piece of carpet around home plate placed on top of the turf or do they have to cut out turf to put in both?

Its just weird playing baseball in a modern football stadium

Not sure, last year in the ACC/Big Ten tournament was the first time Iowa played there. I know we’ve had some roof balls.

Pitching was good enough this weekend. Iowa really needs more offense. Interesting observation, every team went 0-2 on their doubleheader day. Iowa hosts Nebraska for a three game series next, it’d be nice to take 2/3.

Sosa has been a nice surprise offensively. He’s made a heck of an improvement with the bat since he got to Iowa. Now the rest of the guys need to pick it up
