There are a ton of drivers in Iowa who dont know how to merge onto 4 lane highways that is for sure, as they just veer on over wthout yielding, and I am sure other rules of the road
Going with 4 wheel drive is the easy part. Stopping on the other hand.Idiots. I have a truck or SUV so I'm not going to lose control - says the idiots
There are stupid drivers everywhere. From the Midwest to the northeast the news is showing cars and trucks in ditches or crushed under semi's. Then there are the stupid people in Florida who drive 10 mph faster weaving in and out of traffic only to be 50 yds ahead of you 10 miles down the road.
They're everywhere.
We should probably have a talk about round-abouts.There are a ton of drivers in Iowa who dont know how to merge onto 4 lane highways that is for sure, as they just veer on over wthout yielding, and I am sure other rules of the road
Wisconsin drivers say hold my beer.Poor drivers everywhere.
Mn drivers love hanging out in the left lane going the speed limit.

Amen. Florida not much better and I40 in TN is crazyBro, you need to get out more. Texas drivers are complete dumbasses.
Did I 80 Friday. Lots of truck crashes from the stormIn our defense, there’s a decent chance some of those are travelers on 80/35.
I thought the number of accidents was pretty low with this last storm. Likely because many just opted to avoid the conditions if they could

Tires. Good tires are key.
I thought most or all snowplows had the electronic road feelers. Was talking to a county plower and he informed me otherwise.Well I watched a plow drive straight into a ditch on HWY 6, so there are certainly shitty plow drivers out there as well
Round-abouts Are mostly about education for most. They built all of them with no education on how they work to the public. We should probably have a talk about round-abouts.

Especially older people like me. Still don't like them but have learned to deal with them.
I remember couple years back I pulled up to one and a nice older lady stopped in the round-about and waved me to enter.
WTF. She must have missed the statement on Google how to drive in them. Did I say I still don't like them.
It's section 5.5 of the Iowa driver's manual.Round-abouts Are mostly about education for most. They built all of them with no education on how they work to the public.

DMV's really should do a better job holding drivers accountable about staying up to date on laws and procedures. Not when most folks 50 or older looked at it years ago.

They also don’t know that if you have 4 lanes with two lanes traveling in each direction, you don’t have to stop if there is a school bus stopped with its stop sign out if it is going in the opposite direction. There are a ton of drivers in Iowa who dont know how to merge onto 4 lane highways that is for sure, as they just veer on over wthout yielding, and I am sure other rules of the road
Or emergency vehicles unless they are turning in front of you. Also, add funeral procession to the list. It is nice to see out of respect but not required. There are just a lot of bad and ignorant drivers out there for sure. They also don’t know that if you have 4 lanes with two lanes traveling in each direction, you don’t have to stop if there is a school bus stopped with its stop sign out if it is going in the opposite direction.
Yeah it's the stopping not the goingGoing with 4 wheel drive is the easy part. Stopping on the other hand.
This is a sound idea. Just a 10- to 20-question multiple choice test where the person seeking renewal has to correct any mistakes that they make. It could be a very good educational tool to address things that a lot of drivers suck at such as round-abouts, merging, left-lane lounging, etc.DMV's really should do a better job holding drivers accountable about staying up to date on laws and procedures.
A written test every time up for renewal.
