Iowa has not lost since Ferentz's letter to McCaffery

Well this definitely confirms, if it wasn't suspected already, that @ISU was key to this season.

Ferentz is 8&9 vs ISU ...that's hardly "most seasons" ...exaggeration should not be considered an assessment.

Reality..Iowa has lost way too many games vs ISU under Ferentz.

Don't you have some kids to yell to get off your lawn or something? Or does that happen less since it's wintertime?

Anyways, the way I see it 8-9 vs ISU in football no matter how you slice it, is considered losing to them often, and can be considered most seasons. How is that exaggeration Mr. Putdown Pants?

Got a new photo you can attach to all your posts to help us out around here though.

you really are stupid...I guess eating all that crow crap does that for you.
you exaggerated Having to overcome the loss to ISU most seasons .. 9 losses in 17 seasons is not "most" seasons...anyway you slice it...is not most.

I already posted Ferentz has lost too many times to ISU ... but I don't need to go further than that.

Curious, if you have 9 apples in one pile and 8 in the other, which pile has the most apples?

How about this if you have 9 green M&M's and 8 red ones all mixed in a jar. If you reached in and blindly took one out, which one are you most likely to pick out?

I understand your sentiment here, but technically losing 9 and winning 8 does mean we've lost to ISU most seasons. More than half = most

sure thing ..if that is your definition of the word most...which is per Webster almost all : the majority of
if "most seasons" equals 8 wins & 9 losses...so be it...

Are really going to keep coming back and try to pretend you are both right and justified in calling someone out for stating that 9 out of 17 is most? Seriously? That takes a special kind of narcissism.

No one and I repeat NO ONE would not consider 9 to be "most" vs 8.

I jumped into this thread because I thought surely you were jesting, but oh my, you actually believe what you said and think you are right! LOL

One can define "most seasons" as meaning anything from 2,3,4,5,6, ...I'm the one who pointed out the record as being 8-9...no I do not equate 8-9 to "most seasons"... Oh I can Iowa lost "more" then they won but "most" NO....

BTW, if you are going to post the definition according to Webter's, then post the FULL definition. If you posted the correct definition you would see you are wrong.

Full Definition of most

  1. 1: greatest in quantity, extent, or degree <the most ability>

  2. 2: the majority of <most people>
Note: "greatest in quantity" and "majority."

9 > 8. AND 9 is the majority of 17.

LOL

UMM..... NO. No you can't when the denominator is 17.

Yes, math and apparently English are both hard, and Google search and reading Webster's dictionary!

Most apparently, it is very hard to just say "I am wrong" or misspoke. This is comedy gold!

NO one would consider a record of 8-9 as meaning "most seasons"...is 9 losses vs 8 wins more...well of course it is...the statement "most season" was an exaggeration of the record...(giving the impression IMO Iowa FB had lost "most seasons" against ISU)...there was no mention of the actual record nor the fact Iowa FB had lost most of the time .... by one.

Don't worry folks, he just follows me around and tries to attack my posts, problem is, all he does it make himself look like an even bigger POS around here.

Thanks also for the personal attack calling me an stupid, that one has been forwarded as yet another personal attack, which I am sure Tom is getting sick of.

I think this post has once again proven who the stupid on is around here. lol.

Honestly, this is probably one of the coolest stories I've read this season... In the middle of Rose Bowl prep, Ferentz writes a page long hand-written letter of encouragement to Fran and the boys.

Here we are arguing what the word "most" means.

I'll sit back and enjoy our coaches going out of their way to support each other. Although I don't think we'll see Ferentz hanging out in the student section in body paint like Pearl did, but still good to see either way.

Unbelievable! LOL. Especially the "no one....." Comment.

You do realize the fallacy of that statement is obviated by the commentary in this thread alone. But I suppose you don't recognize that "most'' (in fact, everyone but you, it seems) disagrees with your interpretation of the facts.

Do you do stand-up?

glad Im making your night...you do realize you keep using the word most...
while I'm using what was actually said "most seasons"..

I believe if an outsider read a sentence you lose "most seasons" .. one could take that as meaning losing a lot more than 9 out of 17...which was my point in the beginning.."most seasons" is an exaggeration of the actual W-L record...not saying its good..in fact said the opposite.

Never said that losing 9 out of 17 is losing "more" than winning.

THANK YOU for getting back on topic.

Says he's going to notify Tom because someone called him stupid and that's a personal attack. The very next sentence calls someone stupid.

You just can't make this stuff up.

Pretty cool story. Gotta love those hand written letters by KF, too

As someone in possession of one of those hand-written letters from Kirk Ferentz, Ol' Doodle can attest that this guy, regardless of what anyone thinks of his professional competencies, is absolutely 100% as genuine as advertised on the personal front.

It's great when support and guidance and assistance from the busiest people at the very highest levels of the athletic department are given so freely to their peers.

That's really, really cool. Brought a tear to my eye. We are so lucky as fans to have two coaches like Ferentz and McCaffery.
